My daughter and I stayed at the Cloisters for 2 nights in June. Our room was absolutely beautiful with both a full-sized and a twin bed, as well as a dressing area and large bathroom with tub/shower. The room was nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable.
The location of Cloisters is perfect, just a short stroll down to the town center.
Mairead and John were great hosts. The camaraderie in the breakfast room was unique, with all guests participating in conversation, sharing travel tips, hints and experiences. Several of us even went on the historical walking tour together one morning.
Breakfast was delicious, we really enjoyed the French toast and the eggs bruschetta.
The Cloisters made our stay in the lovely town of Kinsale all the more special.

I stayed at Cloisters for 2 nights last weekend and was more than satisfied. Kinsale was everything I hoped for and Cloisters was everything I wished for! The hosts were pleasant and enjoyed the fact that all guests at the 4 dining tables interacted with each other. I felt that this was the result of such pleasant surroundings. The place was spotlessly clean, the breakfast varied, fresh and imaginative and I must not forget the mattress which was soooo........ comfortable!

“All-Around Fantastic!”

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Cloisters for three nights and we both agreed that it was a fantastic B&B. The location couldn't be better - less than a five minute walk to any and all spots in Kinsale. Close enough to the heart of town but just behind the action so there were no issues with noise/parking/etc.

As for the room, it was better than any hotel room we could've paid for. The bed was THE most comfortable one I've ever slept in and almost made getting up for breakfast a chore. Of course the breakfasts were so tasty that you'd be crazy to miss them! The hosts cater to your every need and even had copies of the news for us to read in the morning.

I would recommend a stay at the Cloisters to everyone, no matter your age, language, country of origin etc. It's obvious that Mairead and John truly enjoy running the B&B and we will most definitely be booking again on our next visit to Kinsale!

Excellent B&B. We really enjoyed talking to John. The location is fantastic as it's only a short walk to the bay. Rooms were spotless and well decorated. Breakfast was great. A great value.

The Cloisters B&B was the best we stayed in during our entire trip to Ireland. From looking at the picture of the B&B on the outside, I didn't expect it to be so lovely inside. Was I wrong! The queen sized bed was the most comfortable we ever had and it was quite difficult to leave it in the morning! We had the black & white room which was very roomy and comfortable. The shower was the largest and best as well, with fantastic water pressure. And the breakfast was amazing. The room is warm and lovely. I had the breakfast bruschetta which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the full irish, and was very happy. They also offered a wonderful fresh berry compote to compliment the cereals and yogurt which I just loved. We were able to park our car directly next to the B&B, and the location was perfect. Nice pubs, and the best Irish music we heard all week. The hosts are very professional and do a great job helping you plan your visit. I would stay there again without a doubt, but this time book more than just one night!
