St. Ruth' s Farmhiuse epitomizes all that one conjures up when thinking about a traditional bed and breakfast! I really don't where to start to accurately portray our fabulous visit at St. Ruth's. This was our last night of an incredible 10 day visit through Ireland. Three out of our five bed and breakfast accomodations were incredible. However, St. Ruth's, a/k/a Helen was what we imagined Irish hospiltality would encompass times 1000!! We were warmly greeted by Helen's brother and the cows upon parking our car. Helen welcomed us into her Beautiful farmhouse and invited us to her living room where she had a beautiful fire set. Helen brought us a pot of tea followed by the most delicious home made rhubarb pie with the flakiest crust ever tasted, She insisted that we try a dollop of fresh cream (from the
cows) which was truly outstanding. What impressed us even more wAs her willingness to sit and take the time to chat with us about Ireland, her life and experiences. She made us feel so comfortable that we lost track of time. It was the most enjoyable conversation with a woman who has mastered the bed and breakfast industry and has taken it to a level not to be matched. I could go on forever but I will just give you the highlights of the rest of our stay. Because my husband said he wanted to try a hot Irish Whiskey, she waited for us to return from dinner to make him one!! Breakfast in the morning, including the hand made butter curls, home made goodies, fresh fruit and incredible irish breakfast spread that filled our tummies! It was the most perfect way to end our wonderful visit to the Emerald Isles!
Highly recommend the first floor bedroom!
