We had an awesome experience with Martin (unfortunately Joan was away for family matter). He could not have been a better host. The location is great and the scenery is awesome! Joan had suggested and helped us book a ferry to the Aran Islands and tour of the Cliffs by boat a month before, and we are so glad we did! We stayed 2 nights and had everything we needed - Martin prepared delicious breakfasts! We would definitely stay there again if (when!) we go back.

The Reilly family really made us feel like we were with Family. Everything was done without even asking for it. The rooms are immaculate, and even though they were doing some renovation it did not impose on our stay there in fact we never noticed.
Joan makes her own brown bread for the breakfast and you can have anything from cereal to the full works for your breakfast.
Bedrooms are perfect tidy and good size with en suite facilities. There is a designated sitting room for guests with can make a B&B feel more welcoming as you don't feel obliged to stay out late.
Walking distance to the lively traditional village of Doolin.
I would recommend this B&B to any traveler to Clare.

We stayed here with our 15 month old son in September of 2007. Joan and her family were great! The breakfasts and coffee were wonderful and rooms very comfy and clean. We were never made to feel intrusive, even when we were hanging out in the common area during nap time! We only had one rainy day during our stay and Joan was super helpful and recommended an indoor play area and aquarium as an activity. There was always cereal and yogurt for our son to eat for breakfast. We also brought powdered formula for our son and used the kettle in the room to heat up milk for our son so we would not have to disturb Joan or her family in the morning before going down to breakfast. Overall a very nice stay.

We spent one night with Joan and her family and it was a highlight of our trip. The room that we stayed in was absolutely spotless! Not one stain, odor, or imperfection to be seen at all. She communicated with us in great detail before our arrival through email and gave us wonderful directions that brought us right to her. The trip to the Aran Islands that she recommended to us was one of our favorite experiences. Her breakfast included whole fresh fruit, individual yogurts, multiple cereals, and wonderful main dishes. It was very important to us to be within walking distance to the pubs in the evening and she is only about 2 blocks to 3 different pubs and a few restaurants and about 10 minutes walk, though it is straight down the road, well-lit and has side walks, to O'Connors which was our favorite pub. There is also a great little pizza place a block from her home, that was the perfect treat coming from Chicago! We stayed in one other B&B in Doolin and several in the rest of Ireland and I can confidently say that Dubhlinn House was at the very top for excellence. Also, Dubhlinn House is priced extremely reasonably, and much less expensive, for all that you get! I can't recommend Joan and her wonderful home enough!

My wife, my daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Dubhlinn House on the first night of our very first visit to Ireland. It could not have been more delightful! The owners, Joan and Martin, went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and they were very helpful, both before and during our stay, with maps, directions and sightseeing tips. The location of the B&B is ideal, since it is within easy walking distance of two of the more popular pups offering authentic Irish music. Our triple room was bright, clean and beautifully decorated, and our delicious, made-to order breakfast included warm, freshly-baked Irish bread. As an added treat, we joined in the birthday celebration for Martin and Joan's daughter, Claire. On our next trip to Ireland, the Dubhlinn House will be at the top of our itinerary.
