As the song says New York New York, so good, they named it twice!!
Nice art deco theme running through the hotel, the corridors and lifts, its like a time warp in the tower of terror stylie, but in a good way.
The king beds in the rooms are absolutely enormous, and so comfortable, i havnt slept as good on our first night in years, there is also a bed seatee if you have children.
TV well, typical Disney, loads of Disney channels in loads of languages, and a few sport channels thrown in, so the moms, sisters, grannies need to bring loads of reading, knitting etc material, cause its cartoons, or sport to watch.
The bathrooms are really quite large, with his/hers joint sinks, and plenty of fresh towels, shampoo, shower gel, soaps etc.
Park Side Diner is basically an all you can eat free for all, not a great choice for vegeterians, We did notice that European children seem to run wild in the diner, without much parental control, it kind of made our dining experience a little hectic, and one we didnt want to repeat. It was a little costly as well, @25 euros each adult, for a very basic menu, which wasnt the greatest quality food all said.
Reception staff speak excellent english, although I did try and speak french, and we muddled through. Concierge was fantastic, and really helpful, with all the information you could possibly need.
Breakfast is all part of your package deal, a usual continental, rolls, croissants, cereals, fruit juice, tea/coffee, milk, fruit, yogurts, hams and cheese. But we found for an extra 10 Euros, we could have room service deliver your breakfast to your room, at a time suitable, and without all the hassle of elbowing your way to the buffet. For another little extra 4euros 50, we got 6 sausages, and what was like a full pound of bacon and 3 hash browns and tomato. You get enough food for breakfast, and a small lunch using the ham and cheese and rolls, or bacon and sausage rolls, so no need to pay expensive disney prices in the parks for a like lunch, a tea/coffee/juice is all you need.
The Steakhouse in the Village, having read the reviews about it, suggested it was a really lovely place to eat, and got great reviews on food quality, we didnt think so. Portions are rather small, and expensive, and the waiter we got was a real pain in the (CENCORSED), he kept coming back, harrassing us, every 2-3mins, and it was really expensive, a family of four for example, i doubt you would get any change from a 100 euro note. The food wasnt great quality either.
The Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, costs 59 euros per ault, it was one of the best meals we had during our time in Euro Disney, the show wasnt bad either. Probably the best dinner show meanl we've had, even compared to the Florida dinner shows, like pirates, medieval, etc. The show was great, especially the buffalo, but i couldnt eat a whole one, only joking!
The train service is superb, 12 euros for an all day travel card, it allowed you to use the trains and buses as often as you liked. But unfortunately, if you are diabled, or have a buggy, your in for a rough ride, there is no lift to the platform. Its all stairs or escalators, which is dangerous to put a wheelchair, or example double buggie onto. On that note, the Arc De Triomph, has 284 steps to the top, and the same coming down, i thought i was gonna have a heartattack, cause you cant really stop on the stairs since its soo narrow, and piles of people are coming up behind you. There is a lift for disabled, but its not always in service, well it wasnt when was there.
The Louvre is really really popular, with the De Vinci Code film out, so get there early if you want to see the De Vinci paintings. There are lifts, but again, piles and piles of stairs, and the lifts only take you to some of the floors. My wife has some walking problems, and she couldnt make it up to the Mona Lisa which was a waste of money since she never got to see it.
The Curbs are really high as well, so older people, diabled, and people with prams/buggies might find it a little hard going.
The Eiffel Tower is another get there earlier excursion, when we got there there must have been easily 2 thousand people waiting in long queues to get up onto the tower. There is a really good little cafe selling decent food at a decent price, well worth getting some grub there while you wait to get onto the tower.
The Hotel New York is sweet for its location, 10 mins for everything, and with the hotel package including park tickets, you could come an go as you pleased in and out of the parks as much as you liked. The VEA bus shuttle service, outside terminal 3 at the airport is very handy to take, 16 euros for the transfer to your hotel, but make sure you leave early for the return back to the airport, the shuttle will goto all the hotels, then it has to go through some serious road works, so allow at least an 1-2hours getting back to the airport.
