Stayed here a couple of times and each time it seems to get worse. Be prepared to spend an hour checking in! Also we cant forget the small cramped room especially family rooms. The rooms are nicely decorated in torn wallpaper dirty bed sheets with cigarette holes in them and dirty bath and toilet. On the last day we had to leave early for the airport we went down to the breakfast buffet only to find the longest queue ever. My wife and eldest kid waited in queue while I and my younger son checked out when we finished check out my wife was still in the queue we waited there for at least an hour until we gave up as our taxi would be arriving soon so we kindly told our story to the other restaurant who caters for people staying in better room like suites. We asked them would they mind giving us a roll or pastry to keep us going but they rudely ingnored our request. So we had to buy something in the hotel shop so all we got was a can of apple juice which turned out to be fizzy. Because of this my son ended up getting sick in the taxi. We also stayed in the new york hotel which was by far better!

Disney is not everyone's cup of tea and unfortunately I fall into this category, ie grumpy old man.
So before we got there my perception was that I was not going to enjoy the stay.
Have to say it was ok, a bit too busy for me but thats the Disney Experience. It was very expensive but also full so who can blame them for market pricing.
I was on the Admirals Floor which apparently gives some benefits, not exactly sure what they were because I reckon I would have missed quite a number of hours if I had read all the paperwork they gave me on check in.
The place was clean, tidy, very convenient and nothing too much trouble for the staff, Disney just seem to have staff training completely sorted out.
The kids enjoyed it immensely, we went for them and it was absolutely no grief to me so it deserves a very good rating.

“No complaints at all...................”

Disney's Newport Bay Club

We stayed at the Newport from the 15th june to 18th June and totally enjoyed our stay.

After reading the reviews on here i booked a room on the Admiral floor and asked for a high floor, for a good view and close to the lifts as my wife is expecting. we were given the 7th floor, literally round the corner from the lift.

The Admiral floor has it's own check in, so as the normally queue zigzaged for a while, we were 2nd in our queue.

The room was big enough for 2 double beds, cupboard with tv in, a table and 2 chairs, so big enough really considering you won't spend too much time in there.

Breakfast
Get a card from reception upon checking in, and we went for 7:30am, as after 8am you do have to queue. Normal continental breaky, cheeses, Ham , rolls and fruit salad. Cereals, tea and coffee and juice.

Bar
A pint was 7.20 Euros, which is quite expensive, however you can buy cans of kroenbourg in the hotel shop for a fraction of that cost. They also filled our childs milk bottle for free which was handy. Maatyn in the bar (as stated by toplondondad) was very helpful and got my son a balloon, crisps and sweets. He even taught my son how to drink tequila (substituting it with water off course), which was quite funny.

Use the Disney express on your checkout. It's 4 euros a bag and they take your bag to the station which you pick up when you check in for the eurosta, so you can go straight to the park on your last day without worrying about your luggage.

Park.
Take the back exit out and the park is a very pleasant 15mins (at most) walk. The park itself was great and the studio shows were very good. The Stitch show and the car stunt shows were particularly good, but so were the animagic and cinemagic. My 2 1/2 was however frightened by all the shows, except the stitch show, but this was more down to the load sound effects.

Mickeys Cafe.
We had dinner here and it was worth it as we got to see mickey, minnie and Tigger. And if you're chasing the characters with autograph books all day this WILL save you a lot of time. I had the well done pluto's steak, which i managed to get in 5 mins. I've never received a well done steak so fast!

Food
Do not expect too see much fruit or veg at all.

It is all Burgers (the patty itself was very small), Hotdogs 4:70 Euros each and chips. Oh and lots of lollies, candy floss and popcorn.

Characters
If you want to get photo's/autographs, you will find yourself queuing for 45-60mins atleast unleas you get in the queue before hand. I got sunburnt waiting to see Winnie the pooh with my son, hence the recommendation to have dinner/breaky at mickeys cafe. 2 characters a day are also at this hotel every morning, so we caught Donald there.

I could carry on writing for ages, so any questions feel free to ask.

All in all a great time, great weather for us, and will be going back for sure in a few years.

“Forget about customer service”

We stayed here when we went to Disneyland. When you arrive you have to queue for the check in. When you enter the room you realize you are staying in a 2 to 3 stars hotel instead than 4, there is a strange smell and most of the rooms are so far from the lift you need to walk for a good 10-15 minutes (not great with kids and luggages, isn't it?). Better ask for a room nearby the lift. Inside the room you have to hope that everything works because if you need some help (let's say the bathroom sink is clogged) you need to wait for a couple of hours at least before someone appears to sort it out.
It is much better to take an hotel in or around paris and commute to Disneyland. Food is also craped

“Lovely place if you don't have kids!”

Disney's Newport Bay Club

I'm not sure if the hotel is badly designed or people are just too rude and eager to get in the lift or through a door or into the pool or down the stairs before the next person...A huge hotel with all you need really - but the movement of people within it seems to be a problem...It needs some sort of system - perhaps hotel staff at a couple of points throughout the reception floor (2nd) to direct people and stop the crowds bottlenecking at the lift lobby and the stairs down to the rear exit and breakfast restaurants.

At certain times of the day - it becomes a battle of the buggies - all moving against eachother in different directions - but it appears half of the people don't know where they are going! The hotel definitely needs to offer advice on routes to the pool, rear entrance etc - as it seems a bit of a free for all..

Rooms were fine - we had 2 adjoining - on the second floor - long walk to the reception area - but that was fine - the kids loved the corridors. Our rooms backed onto a grassy area opposite the very good pool - and we had a small patio area which was perfect in the hot weather we were lucky enough to get.

Breakfast was good - but the queues again were not good...Although the queues went quite quickly - it's just a noisy pushy start to the day.
The route to the parks we used ( and everyone else as far as i know ) was via the rear exit - dowmn 2 sweeping staircases or one tiny lift - bearing in mind there is a lmost a buggy or wheelchair for every person! Surely this could have been oplanned better...The good weather meant everyone walked to the parks around the lake and these stairs became a heaving mass of buggies, kids, grannies and badly burned dads..

Great access to the park - which is why we were there and the staff - especially 'Luca' behind the reception were helpful and friendly. We didn't eat in the hotel - we ate in the village and the Val D' Europe about 5 mins drive away..Got directions from Maarten in the captain's bar - another helpful member of staff. Would recommend the food at the Agape bar opposite the station - good Nicoise salad and good Croque Madam. 3 adults and two kids ate and drank plenty for 60 Euro - vey good compared to the hotel - half price at least - and no ticket or queuing required!

The parks are brilliant - the Walt Disny studios seemed to be overlooked by many - but was a great park with plenty to do for all ages.

Back to the hotel - quite expensive in the bars etc - but we were expecting that. One pint was 7,20 Euro. The Fisherman's wharf bar staff filled our baby's bottle with warm milk every night for us and i got two buckets of ice from then daily too - to store my recently purchased from the Val D' Europe shopping centre, Kronenbourgs and a couple of bottles of wine...Got 6 cans fro the price of 1 can in the hotel shop!

All in all - a lovely place - top hotel - just perhaps a victim of its own success - all those parents and kids can't be wrong.
