Have stayed in this hotel and found the accomodation to be great. We were given an upgrade on this occasion, special birthday, and the room was excellent. We are Priority Club members.
We decided to eat in the restaurant on our first night which was the worst decision we made. For 21euros we ate in a canteen, with very poor food which seemed to have been cooked quite some time ago and left lying. Microwaves were available to heat food which was already overcooked. The only potato option for adults was dauphinoise, heavily seasoned with garlic and full of olives. The vegetables were a soggy, tasteless mess. I asked for some chips and was eventually given some, having first been told they were only for children. On each table there was a notice asking you to clear your table to the tray trolleys at the side. Just like Ikea (but then you only pay £1 for breakfast in Ikea). It was by far the worst eating experience I have had in any hotel in France and certainly in any Holiday Inn anywhere. School dinner food is better!
I did complain and although I was assured that I was quite right to complain and that my complaint would be passed to the manager (my name and room number was taken to give to the manager), I heard nothing and was given no apology. Not what I expect from a 4* hotel and certainly not from Holiday Inn.
Would recommend the hotel as long as you don't eat in the restaurant.
