We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon.
The hotel itself is only a couple of years old and is fantastic! The rooms were huge, with a king size bed, desk and seperate wardrobe area. The bathroom was also luxurious with a his and hers sink and a bath for 2.
As it is around 20 minutes via train into the centre of Venice, the hotel offers free daily train tickets.
There was a safe and ironing board facilities in our room.
There was an issue with our booking and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
The only downside- the breakfast buffet was very limited on it variety of food. We were very let down.

We stayed in this hotel for one night after a cruise in early May 2008, and found it very convenient.

We booked this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews and the Crowne Plaza's website mentioning that the train station was close, and they had free shuttles to the airport. After leaving the cruise ship, we took the train from Venice with our luggage, and were pleased to see that the train stop really was directly behind the hotel, only about a 2-3 minute walk away. The train was only about 15 minutes from Venice, and the hotel provided free train tickets to and from Venice to all hotel guests.

When we asked the reception about the shuttle to the airport, they said it was going to be a 35 euro fee. However their website specifies that they offer free shuttle service if you book through them. When I brought this point up to lobby staff, they then agreed to make it free, but only after we had questioned the 35 euro charge. From this I would have to assume then that they charge anyone for this service that do not realize that this service is free, so make sure to specifically mention their free shuttle service. Other than this incident, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in an Executive King room, and found it to be very spacious (especially for Europe!) and extremely clean. The bathroom was very large, with a large tub, and seperate shower. It all looked very new and felt spacious.

The internet was convenient, fast, and reasonably priced at 7 euros for 24 hours (very reasonable when you just spent 2 weeks on a cruise where internet was 75 cents a minute!)

Location is not the best if you want quick access to Venice, as we had to wait over an hour for a train in the afternoon, however the train ride was short and free, and I definitely prefer it to the many tourists we saw in Venice lugging their suitcases over the cobblestones and bridges trying to find their hotels!

Overall the Crowne Plaza was a great hotel, and I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Venice in the future.

“So Comfortable and Convenient!”

We were very pleased with our stay at the Crowne Plaza in Quarto d’Altino during the first week of May 2008. The room was very big and comfortable. I loved the bathroom, especially the giant tub. It was great to relax in it after a long day of walking. The room was very clean except for some dings on the walls and marks on the curtains.

We drove during our trip and were happy with the parking lot behind the hotel. We were delighted to find an ice machine on our floor (the first we'd seen in a European hotel) and were glad there was a fridge in our room. We accessed the Internet through an Ethernet cable in the room and the service cost 7 euros per 24-hour period.

The hotel is a great place to stay if you are visiting Venice. The train station is directly behind the hotel (you walk through a little tunnel under the tracks to the station) and you can get train tickets at the front desk of the hotel. We were given our first set of tickets for free and paid a little more than 2 euros per ticket the rest of the time. I was a little nervous about taking the train into Venice but the staff was great and gave us a train schedule with our tickets and explained exactly what to do and how to get there. It turned out to be very, very easy and I felt silly that I had been nervous! If we were able to visit Venice again we would definitely choose to stay at this hotel.

“A great place to stay!”

Crowne Plaza Venice East - Quarto d'Altino

11 May 2008

We throughly enjoyed our 3 nights at the Crowne Plaza. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Our room was clean and equipped with everything one could think of to make our stay relaxed and comfortable. The food in the dining room was delicious and presented attractively. The hotel is located next to the railway station and we were given complementary tickets to ride into Venice. We also appreciated the suttel service to and from the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Venice.

Stayed in this hotel just before Christmas for 4 nights. It was easy to reach from the airport once you worked out which bus to catch at the airport. When we got to the hotel the staff obviously had no record of us staying but we showed them our printed receipt and they quickly found us a room. When we got to the room we thought there had been some kind of mistake. It was HUGE! The bed was so comfortable and the biggest I'd ever slept in. The bathroom had a large corner bath and a double shower. Perfect for relaxing after a long day walking through Venice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was basic, and more of a continental taste such as hams and cheeses. Most days i just had toast. We had an evening meal and the price was quite steep and the food wasn't very fancy, but anywhere you eat in Venice is overpriced.
The main criticism I have is the lack of amenities in the town. We couldn't find anywhere to eat in the town so we stayed in Venice for dinner most nights. However, I think it wouldve been a lot harder to find a hotel if id chosen to stay in Venice. The train stations right outside so you dont need to search for it.
The train journey into Venice was reasonably priced and around one per hour, although there was a 2 hour gap between trains in the morning, so you either have to get the train at 10.30ish or wait til 1.
I probably would stay in this hotel again if i could get a good rate.
