A friendly local pension located by a remote shopping area which closes at 18:00. A very, very good 2 star. Stayed here many times on business and the rooms and en-suites are contempory, modern, spotless, and roomy for the price. Erica (the owner) doesn't speak much English (and I don't speak much German) but we get by and she is a wonderful surrogate mother. There is no evening meal available, but breakfast is a superb buffet with fresh produce replenished regularly throughout the meal-time.
The small village is very traditional with several places to eat in the evening, if you are ok with an ordinary evening meal. A good place to visit is nearby Landshutt. A larger town with a traditional German High Street frontage and more choices to eat. Look at the church tower (low in the town) and the castle (high on the hill). The church tower is so tall because whoever had the highest roof had the greatest symbol of power. I am told the Church won!
Geno is a lovely economical touring base, highly recommended.
