We have just returned from a week at this beautiful hotel !! Had a fabulous time and couldnt fault it !
The pool and gardens are immaculate and the hotel is HUGE as it is a mirror image of its sister hotel on the same grounds !!The pictures in the brochures dont do this place justise at all !
The pools were our favourite as they gently slope from the beach area and are connected by various bridges which lead to one of the 8 bars around the complex !
We never had a problem with sunbeds as they were always available at all times of the day because of the size and layout of the hotel .
The food was fabulous - lots of choice and always hot and delicious and in abundance - even if you were down in the last 20minutes for breakfast ( which we were with two children ) the chef was still preparing fresh omeletes and cooking bacon ! My 10 year old loved the omelettes !!
Both children 10 yrs and 5 yrs always had lots of choice as there is a childrens section with all there favourites plus they can still access the rest of the buffet also !!
The beach area is tiny stones as described in other reviews and not sand however this was not a problem to us !
There is entertainment during the day for both adults and children including football, boules, archery etc Our children didnt access the mini club as we couldnt get them out of the pool !!!
Night time entertainment started with a mini disco for the children a band or snake show or illusionist then the main show at 10pm -elvis tribute, flamenco, cats and lord of the dance were all excellent !!
It is only a couple of euros in a taxi to neighbouring areas like playa del ingles and meloneras - we loved meloneras - a beautiful prom with exclusive boutiques and lovely bars overlooking the sea -playa del ingles has a lovely beach but is busier and more touristy !!
We booked the sioux city excursion through the reps and had a great night- a really well organised family night out- lovely BBQ- drinks included- and a great show with the cowboys and indians-knife throwing, horse back riding, lassoo tricks etc....
We had a camel ride also which is well worth doing but is only a five minute walk from the hotel and you save alot not going through the reps - we paid 12 euros for adults and 8euros for the children as apposed to 36 euros and 21.50 euros for the same excursion !!
A wonderful place with friendly staff in beautiful surroundings- we didnt want to leave- will certainly return !!!!!!

“It's a Beach Jim, but not as we know it !”

Maspalomas Princess Hotel

20 May 2008

Stayed here for a week in the back end of April / early May - I must point out that the review may be biased by the fantastic weather we had ! ;-)

Nice hotel, very clean - a bit of a mish mash in some area's, the huge glass fronted reception was very modern where other area's (i.e the piano bar) were quite old fashioned and could do with livening up a bit. That said, it was comfortable and the service was usually good.

The room itslef was spacious, Air conditioning was not great, to be honest I would have liked it cooler but my other half said it was ok. Maid service was good, rooms were clean and we had no issues. Bathrooms are large, I was quite surpised there was only a single sink -plenty of room for a his and hers. Shower was great, loads of hot water and plenty of power to make the sunburn sting !

The winner for me here was the food - great variation and always hot and fresh. Buffett style breakfast and evening meal (we were half board) and the range was fantastic - different dishes every night, even the vegetarian amongst us didn't struggle !

Outside, I would say although the pools are very nice - getting shade is quite a problem as there are no sun shades - the only shades available are on "the beach" (For Beach read cat litter / grit !) and getting a spot in the shade is not easy - you have to get under a tree and you can't move tree's.

Seen some people complaining about the walk - not sure why ! nice walk along the "Dry River Bed". It will take you a good 20 minutes but you can wander past and see the camels and parrots - all quite nice with a refreshment stop on the way if required.

Only real issue I would have with the hotal is the lack of variety on the snack front. All the bars sell the same snacks and basically, it toasted sandwiches and thats your lot - would have been nice for a bit more variation.

Overall, very nice hotel, just a few more improvements it could be a really good 4* hotal.

we have just returned from a fantastic ten day stay at the beautiful maspalomas/tabibia princess hotel. i really can say this place is faultless - everything myself and partner wanted from a holiday. when we arrived (platinum style) we were amazed at how big and grand the hotel looked - its all glass fronted with a lovely marble reception, very exotic with glass lifts and lots of indoor palm trees! we had a top floor pool view which we asked for previously, the view was spectacluar its like been on a little island the pool area is huge with lots of little cocktail bars and is surrounded by palm trees And a manmade beach.
food at the hotel is very good, thers always something there for everybody and im a very fussy eater, they have show cooking themed nights which are a lovely effect, the mexican night was very good. all the staff dress up and they play little guitar's while you eat.
after reading other reveiews i was a little sceptial about the location of the hotel but we found it to be perfect, its in a quiet area but easily accesible to everywhere around, just a pleasent 15 minute walk away to the sand dunes, beach and the lovely little village of melanares which has lots of shops and classy but inexpensive resturants. if your a little more lively head into playa del ingles you can get a taxi outside the hotel for around 3 euros, you can go onto the yumbo shopping centre which has some fantastic shows, bars and drag bars which are hillarious or you can opt for kasbah which is a nice shopping centre with quite a few nightclubs such as cream and china whites.
if you want to try some different things you really must book some excursions with thomsons, - the staff are brilliant so helpful and caring especially andy and karen who are both fantastic. we went on the camel capers, casino royal dinner show, dolphin vusion and a submarine ride which were all brill.
all in all we had a fantastic holiday at this hotel and will definatley return . xxx

“Loved the hotel”

Maspalomas Princess Hotel

My husband and I have just got back from a weeks stay in this beautiful hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious and the maid service, although every day was discreet - they were never around when I went back to the room. The food was excellent, there was plenty of choice and there was fresh food being bought out all the time! The pool area was fantastic, there were plenty of sunbeds for all. The setting was beautiful, lush green gardens, the beach is 20 minutes walk away, but this is a very peaceful and enjoyable walk. I would return to this hotel and would definitely reconnmend it to all.

I arrived on january the 1st in this hotel, so In peak season and it was very busy and very noisy in the restaurant!!! So the very first days I found it a bit impersonal as it was fully booked! When the families went back home, it started being quieter and nicer! The rooms are very nice and the half board formule is very good! Always a good variety to choose from! The pool is very beautiful and paradisiac! Hotel is situated on a very quiet area but you have got buses very often to go to maspalomas or Playa del ingles and taxis are from 3.50 eur to 4.00 eur to get back from Playa del ingles in the middle of the night! You are not very far from the dunes and The evening shows are DELIGHTFUL!!!!Thats certainly the best part of this hotel!

You want very good service???? very good food ????very good everything???? The Maspalomas princess is for you!!!!
