We stayed at the hotel for 9 nights in a deluxe garden view room. The location and lay out of the hotel is beautiiful. ALL staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Whilst the room and the facilities were of a high standard we feel we must comment on the sound proofing or lack of! Any sound coming from an ajoining room can be heard all to clearly, ie. coughing, snoring, sneezing, toilet flushing, footsteps, trolley cases over 24 hours etc.

This was the only down side of this hotel. If you are going take some ear plugs.

The food selection is excellent, however after a week buffet food can become a bit repetative.

In spite of the above we would recommend the hotel and would definately return.

From the time we arrived to the time we left all the staff were helpful, willing and polite, excellent service all round.
Bedroom spacious , my wife was impressed with the walk in wardrobe with even enough hangers for all of her clothes.
Bathroom had bath , separate shower, his and hers washbasins, toilet and bidet with plenty of towels .
Bed made up promptly and turned down at night.
Breakfast buffet good with plenty of choice. Dinner buffet excellent starters ,dessert and cheese selection , main course OK so we tended to have minimal main course and concentrate on the other courses .
Italian and Ovo restaurants a la carte good ,service first class , neither very busy on the nights we went.
Plenty of pool facilities ranging from paddling pool to primarily quite deep adults only one. Plenty of loungers and umbrellas , usual idiots trying to reserve their own "prime" location with towels, I have a policy of giving them an hour to turn up in the morning and then removing towels and returning them to the towel attendant
Bars generally quiet but enjoyable ( Pub Zythum tried to con us by serving cheaper drinks than we were being charged for. No apology when pointed out)

Every evening music/dancing in the Plaza plus at 10 p.m a headline act for 45 minutes ( Friday night it was Il Divo who were very good). One piece of advice if you are planning to relax and have early nights or have young children avoid the blocks surrounding the Plaza ,primarily J,C and A . We didnt mind the music even though staying in block J because we were never in bed before the music stopped and we had an excellent view and balcony.
Shopping centre and restaurants 15 minutes walk along promenade or 10 minutes by the street . Lots of shops selling perfume, spirits , cigarettes ,souvenirs plus supermarkets. Good cafe K1 , ( the first cafe you come across as you walk along the prom from the hotel) staff very good and able to sit at your leisure and watch the crowds go by , not at all expensive. Rias fish restaurant and Spanish steak restaurant ,on first floor of shopping centre good value though mussels mariniere in Rias were served cold.
Dunes impressive with nudist beach ( just round the corner from the lighthouse )but felt very sorry for any brave nudists as both times we looked there was a good sand storm blowing.
Not much to do in the town.
Overall very pleased with our stay

Loved it. Very relaxing.
Staff at check in very helpful and considerate. On arriving in our room, I asked if it was possible to change to one with a nicer view, which they found for me immediately.
Place is spotless, pools are great, and very clean.

Staff were lovely.....(apart from the woman in the newsagent..... rude and unhelpful.....bless her.)
Rooms were kept very clean and towels replaced a few times a day. Lovely chocolates kept appearing. Great shower. Lovely deep bath.

Half board. Lots of variety at breakfast and dinner.

My suggestions for improvement?....Carpets in the rooms, and corridors. More waiting staff at mealtimes, and around the pools.
cushioned pads for the sunbeds. More pool towel availability throughout the day. Free drinking water.

Book a room on the upper floors.

We have just returned from our third stay at the Villa del Conde in the last ten months. What can we say, we just ove this hotel. It is simply one, if not, the best on the island. Having been to Gran Can for many years, we have seen plenty of hotels, apartments etc but this is the one we now keep coming back to. Can only agree with all the other reviews, that the service is second to none, the hotel is an architectural delight, well thought out and planned, with 7 pools for everyone and delightful gardens. It's more like a Canarian village than a hotel and if you don't like this, then you are very hard to please!! Give this hotel a try...... for the record, we are going back in July for our fourth stay, it's that good ...
