Well, generally I was impressed with this hotel. It's very clean, well designed and generally a joy to stay in. BUT.... it is not without it's faults. The walls are so thin that you do not need to see the towels on the loungers to know that the Germans are coming (so to speak). Ya, ya, yaaaaaaaaaaaa. The clip klop of high heels on the marble floors also loses its appeal at 3am. Also do not look beyond sun bathing and relaxing for things to do. There is not much around.
On the plus side the hotel is really lovely, and the staff attentive.... although I did get the impression that the staff hierarchy did produce some starchy stares between them.... [---]!
On the whole a good place to stay if all you want to do is relax. I would even recommend getting upgraded to full board when you check in as it is relatively cheap and you will not find great food at many of the restaurants within 5 miles. The food in the hotel buffet is really rather good. The pianist in the bar to the left of the front desk was excellent.... worth the inflated bar prices.
We would have had to pay 45 euros to have the room til 5 on our last day.... a rip off considering we had been there 9 nights..... ho hum.
One last issue.....the best selling English newspaper is the Daily Mail. Don't expect clever conversation.........
On balance a good place to stay and relax / unwind. Just don't expect excitement. The entertainment is strictly cabaret...... the Abba covers singers actually complained about the lack of audience support.... complete with fake Swedish accents. Now that was priceless.
