My thoughts on the Complex, Magnolias Natura is that it is really a nice place to stay. The complex is all naturist, where you can wonder freely anywhere in the complex nude. They have a well kept swimming pool next to the Bar and Restaurant. Even if you are not on half or full board, you can always have a meal here. It saves cooking yourself, and who really wants to cook when you are on holiday. The bungalows, 28 of them in total, are all self contained. They consist of a large Kitchen come lounge area. The Kitchen has 2 electric hot rings, a Toaster, Coffee Maker, and Fridge. The Lounge has a Television, and a Compact Disk Player come Radio & Tape player. There is also an iron, and Telephone. The Sofa also turns into a sofa bed, that's if there were 3 people sharing the accommodation. The Bathroom has a Bath and Shower, Toilet and Bidet, plus a sink. It is quite a large size compared to most Bungalows. The Bedroom, (some Bungalows have a double bed, but the one I stayed in, was a Twin room). There are 2 built in Wardrobes, and also air conditioning. You have to get a remote control from Reception if you need to turn the air con on. Inside one of the Wardrobes there is a safe attached to the wall, again you need a key from Reception. There is a small charge for this. The Bungalows get cleaned 5 times a week. Tuesday and Thursday are the cleaners days off. All the staff here at the complex are so friendly, and they make your stay fun. There are free buses during the day to Maspalomas beach, and also Playa del Ingles. At the back in the small Reception area, there is a small shop, a little larger than a broom cupboard selling drinks only, like Water, Soft drinks, one type of Lager, and Milk. The nearest Supermarket is about 10 mins down the road. To save you taking money around with you, when you go to the Bar or Restaurant they will give you a tab and add all drinks and food to that tab. You can off course pay off that tab anytime during your stay if you wish. Or you can pay as you go, its your decision. The Swimming Pool is of a good size. There is a big ledge all around the swimming pool, just under the water, where you can sit, or lay down in the water, at the edge of the pool. There is also plenty of Sun Loungers around the pool too.
I really liked the complex. If you're looking for a really relaxing time. (No children allowed here) So no screaming kids. Then I highly recommend this place.
I shall definately go back again.

“Great, friendly naturist resort, ideal for first timer.”

I went to Magnolias as a first time naturist and hoped that the foreign climate and relative seclusion would make it easier for me to bare all in public. Although nervous at first, I quicky took to it like a duck to water and found the resort was just what I needed.

The bungalows are quite small and allow one to test the water (so-to-speak) and have a nice patio area where you can take your first steps into public nudity. From there it's just a small step to the pool, the sun beds and the bar.

When I stayed there, there were probably just over a dozen other guests from all over Europe. English therefore seemed to be the international language, so I had no problems making new friends. The staff are all friendly and speak English very well (one of them is actually English). The bar is exellent for light snacks during the day and full meals in the evening but it's only a 3 euro taxi ride into Playa Del Ingles if you wanted to go out for the evening.

Take advantage of the free bus into Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas beach. It stops right outside the hotel and makes about 5 or 6 runs a day. There are no buses from the hotel after about 5 pm. One thing to bear in mind is that clocks in Gran Canaria are set by guess work rather than any scientific means and bus timetables are more suggestions than anything else. The return runs can be unpredictable, so aim to be at the bus stop around 20 minutes before the scheduled departure.

If I had to find fault with the resort I would say that as mentioned in another review there isn't a great deal of open space. It would be nice if there was a lawn or picnic area where one could sit with a group of friends, but for that sort of thing there's currently really only the bungalows. It's also a good 20 minute walk to the nearest shops (the mini-mart they mention on their website is only a broom-cupboard behind reception). Of the 11 TV channels, only one is English - and sadly it's Sky News.

But those faults (and I had to really think long and hard to come up with them) notwithstanding Magnolias Natura is an excellent resort which I will definitely be returning to on an annual bases. I can highly recommend it to any naturist be they first timers or hardened veterans.

My wife and I stayed at Magnolias for Christmas 2005, looking for a location more sheltered than Chaco de Palo. I went on my own in summer 2006 while she was away on family business and am about to do the same in June 2007.

The complex is quiet, ie no "entertainment" program. This suited us just fine. The pool is large by Maspalomas standards and well maintained. There is a sizable sunbathing area around the pool and all bungalows have a decent sized terrace. The bungalows are fitted out for basic self catering, but we ate out most evenings, about half in the on site bistro. Go for the breakfast option, it's very good value. The staff (with one exception) were friendly and helpful. The exception was dealt with in a discrete and efficient manner!

The only down side is that compared to the open naturist resorts elsewhere, the naturist area is small. For those who like to walk, the beach is the best option. At Christmas, this can be windswept!

“Great place for a chill out!”

Magnolias Natura

We are a couple in our early 30’s our previous European naturist experiences have mainly been on the beach, the idea of a designated complex sounded perfect for us!

We stayed at Magnolias early October 2006 for a lovely chilled out week.

The bungalows were excellent, clean and well maintained (Unusually for Europe we even got a kingsize bed!).

The pool area was totally naturist during the day and the lack of “soggy swim wear feeling” was very welcome, however with the fear of sounding like “Die Hard Naturists” we were a little surprised that everyone dressed for breakfast and dinner, especially as the temperature was always lovely and warm.

The staff at the complex were really friendly and helpful, especially Petra and June and the other guests were mostly chatty and friendly, The crowd while we were there were in the main 50+ in age, this wasn’t a problem to us at all

We got the courtesy bus to the naturist beach once and although the sand dunes were impressive it didn’t seem worth the energy as we had all we needed back at the complex. We did go out to eat (and drink!!) most evenings, apart from the BBQ evening where we had some yummy food and good conversation.

We are already talking about a return trip, it’s a perfect place to relax and unwind!

We spent 10 days in this excellent complex in June.
We are a mature couple who enjoy the freedom of clothes free on holiday but neither are able to make the long walk to the sand dunes now, so we found this complex a real haven which met all our needs.
We arrived late in the evening, tired after the long flight and were met with a smiling happy member of staff who greeted us as if we were old friends.
Our first impression proved to be correct as the bungalows are exactly as pictured on the website. They are well appointed, clean and spacious, and contain all you need for a holiday.
The pool is well kept and heated with plenty of sunbeds for the visitors with a bistro at the poolside which serves snacks during the day and meals in the evening. The staff are so friendly and nothing is a bother for them.
Although the complex is a bit out of the way for those less able to walk, there are courtesy buses to both Playa del Ingles & Maspalomas during the day and taxis are plentiful and cheap for returning in the evenings.
Most of the evenings were spent in either of those places as there was no entertainment in the complex at night ( which had the added bonus that when you were ready to sleep, you were not disturbed by noisy disco music ) and while the food in the Bistro was very good we choose to go outside most evenings. Both Maspalomas & Playa have an excellent choice of restaurants where you can eat almost any type of food you desire.
Overall our holiday was everything we hoped for and the only thing missing was a pint of John Smith's beer as we are not keen on Spanish beers, so maybe the next time we can talk the staff into having some cans of that in their fridges as well as Budweiser.
We have only one piece of advice for anyone going to the Boulevard at Faro Maspalomas for a drink or meal in the evening, watch your bill and check it carefully as twice we were badly overcharged. There was never a dispute when this was pointed out so we wondered if this was a genuine error or a "try-on" hoping that we would be either so confused with the foreign currency or had too many drinks to notice. This did not spoil our holiday but we were alert when we received our bill and always checked it carefully.
If you want a relaxing naturist holiday in an excellent complex with the option of good entertainment only a short distance away then look no further than Magnolias, we cannot wait to return.
