Campo Golf Bungalows maspalomas gran canaria
19/11/2007
These bungalows were basic but very clean with comfortable beds. The kitchen had 2 cooking rings, microwave, kettle but no toaster which is a must on holiday (i took my own as i already knew this) we stayed at no;36 which is alongside the main road from maspalomas to playa so to us was noisy as we live in a no through road at home, the whole complex was very clean with neat gardens, the staff were excellect nothing too much for them. The faro centre is not too far away with good eating places and shops, over the dry river an italian restaurant with music and sometimes with dancers etc, next door there is a chinese restaurant as i had not been feeling well that day i only wanted bean sprouts NO bean sprouts i did ask twice as i couldnt believe it so didnt eat there.None of us felt threatened at night walking back to the complex. The weather was hot the hottest was 33 degrees but no lower than 26 unlike when we landed at Exeter airport it was 7degrees and raining hard we shivered for the rest of the day all in all a good holiday and would go back to Campo golf bungalows

We booked this resort because it seemed peaceful but a short ride to ‘lively’ resorts/ discos etc. The resort seems to have recently offered fully inclusive – but really, really don’t bother! Food was appalling and we only ate there twice – open buffet (queue with flies) food was left on hot plate and instead of being replaced was re filled half way so if crusty scrambled eggs are your thing… The was no entertainment whatsoever so you had to go outside resort which wasn’t bad thing – but if you paid for fully inclusive - don't - felt we didn’t get our moneys worth, rooms are clean though and if you want a relaxing holiday this is for you, pool is quiet and no fighting for sun beds, the bungalows are still geared to self catering so you can cater for yourself (as we did) had a 2 electric ring hob and fridge (no toaster although can be hired) and we had kettle but not everyone did in their room, the TV is coin operated and seemed to swallow our Euros but only Sky News so if your not into that don’t bother. But at least you had a bedroom and a sitting room / kitchenette. The ‘Supermarket’ is only open 10am – 2pm - very basic don;'t even sell newspapers and for what they do sell very expensive! Still there is a NETTO in town!!! There are Supermarkets on 2 adjoining resorts, if you want to use this resort as a base for relaxing day and taxi (very cheap) to night life go self catering not worth fully inclusive as we never stayed there at night, on plus point because they are bungalows no noise after 11pm or from upstairs or downstairs neighbours and place is dead most nights (bar closes on the dot or before hand depending on barman). Nice clean resort pity about the food ….

Campo Golf is not the place to go if you have children or want a vibrant all action complex but if you want a place to chill out relax by a lovely pool, enjoy the simple but nice cafe / bar then this is the place for you. The Bungalows are basically equipped Kettle, microwave, stove, fridge, safe, pay for TV and the showers are fantastic. They are also very clean and well maintained as is the whole complex. There is a supermarket that sells everything you will need. The staff are so friendly and helpful and you can book direct with them by phone or on the net.

The majority of the bungalows are privately owned and mostly during the week the place is not full at all although it does get busy at weekends.

When in Gran Canaria take a bus trip to Mogan its beautiful and the marina / harbour at night is superb lots of good places to eat especially the Irish Bar. The bus trips are a white knuckle ride on their own . You can also get a bus to Puerto Rico and then a boat to Mogan which is also lovely. Playas is ok the Yumbo centre is very lively indeed. The Dunes in Maspalomas are fantastic and there are some great places to eat and shop by the lighthouse area Grand Italia, Casa Lolas and Bodegas in the walkway from the beach to the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse area is about a twenty five minute walk, Faro 2 about 5 mins and the Yumbo about 30 mins but Taxis are plentyful and reasonable.

All in all Campo Golf is ideal for couples especially older ones who just want to soak up the sun and relax. If you go once I bet you will go back.

This was our 4th time here, and it is gorgeous. If you are looking for an all action, non-stop cabaret type holiday - this is NOT the place for you. It is a peaceful haven of small but immaculately maintained bungalows set in very well tended tropical gardens. The pool area is quiet, spotlessly clean and the pool itself is large and heated (tho not hot by any means). There are 2 very nice a la carte restaurants attached to the complex. There is also a small supermarket and well maintained tennis courts. The golf course is directly across the road.
The large Faro 2 shopping and leisure complex is about 500meters away and has a variety of shops and good restaurants and bars. The sand dunes and upmarket Melaronas (? spelling!) are about 20-30min walk away. Here you will find lots of great places to eat and some really nice designer shops, jewellers etc.
The much livelier Playa Des Ingles is 30mins walk away, (up the hill) where the nightlife is and loads more besides.
In summary:
This is a great place to have a chill out holiday, but is within easy access of lots of other things to do of you need a bit of a buzz.

The accomodation was nice the rooms were spacious and clean. It was a budget holiday but I think we did very well for the money we paid. The pool was nice and quite big and generally quite quiet. The location was ideal for us as we like to do a little bit of walking and it is in the middle of all the shopping centres. It is 500 meters from a small shopping centre with a few shops and restuarants. It is not far from the sand dunes which offer camels rides etc and about a 30min walk to the beach and larger shopping area called the faro centre with a large range of shops including a lot of designer brands and some lovelly restuarants overlooking the beach. In the other direction it is a 30min walk to the Yumbo Centre again a good sized shopping centre with lots for young people. We had a great holiday the weather was fantastic the resort was lovelly and the accomodation was better than expected.
