We had a wonderful day out at Palmitos Park - it was a beautiful setting and the planting is out of this world. The animals are in very good settings and very well looked after. It was heavenly to sit amongst the animals and the beautiful plants - especially the orchid house - we could have stayed in there for hours! Bit expensive - but worth it. Make sure you get plenty of time there! The parrot show is lovely!

This place was a pleasant day out. It doesn't have all the major animal ie elephants etc. There was a fire there August 2007 and basically tore down the whole thing and have had to start again so they are getting there. There are alot of difference types of birds, bird shows, parrot shows (my fave bit, so funny!) kangaroos, beavers etc, aquarium. Takes fair few hours to get round it, set in a lovely valley in the mountains. They have a little section where they have all the pictures of the damage caused by the fire and is unbeleivable, until you see it you really don't beleive the damage it caused. They also show the plans for the new areas they are going to build, with a massive water arena which will have dolphins and whales which looks amazing. Definately worth a visit

Costs about €15 Euros in a taxi from maspalomas. Buses run to it also though.

We visited Palmitos Park and had quite a good, fun day out! There were many different shows to watch, the exoctic birds was good and so was the bird of pray show. There was also bontanical gardens with lots of rare plants and flowers, some were even poisnous. This was quite interesting. Overall quite a good day out, would go back, but really thought it would be better.

when we first went up to this park i thought it looked slightly expensive(just under 50 Euros For 2 adults and 1 child). once we got in side we saw all types of animal. they had a bird of pray show which is set in a kind of amphi theatre where the birds performed. it also had a place in which they had butterflies, which came very close to you. it also had a kamodo dragon, although amazing to see it didn't actually move much. my favorite part was the parrot show, they really are clever animals which are really funny, it's as if they are in charge rather than the man doing the show with them. i would really recomend this to people who have children as they would really love it athough you do have to be fit to go and see the the bird of prey show as it's quite high up.
