I stayed with my Family over the pre Easter week, This Hotel is really budget accomodation, we had a two bedroom apartment, seperated by a lounge , kitchenette, which had a fridge and a four ring gas hob.
I have yet to give a properly poor review of a place I have stayed in, but if truth be told, I didn't enjoy my stay and was pleased to get home, its remote from the town which is a hefty walk away, or five euros by taxi, there is a strip of food outlets nearer but they are more expensive than the town.
The Hotel caters in the main to middle aged French clients, including the entertainment, which reminded me of my daughters school plays not so many years ago.
The water was never warm, and the kitchen had no kettle though we improvised with a pan we found in one of the cupboards, (along with a cheeseboard and a big ladle which was the sum total of the kitchen equipment).
We had two single beds in our room, pushed together, each dressed with one blanket and a bedspread. The only saving grace were the staff, who I can honestly say were the nicest people you could possibly hope to meet, the reception staff were always courteous, to a fault, nothing seemed beyond their genuine desire to assist.
In short its a cold, bleak place, with great staff, and unbelievably one of my wifes bras went missing whilst we were out for the day. I am led to understand that they can be an expensive item, but even so.
Anyway one ray of sunshine if you get depressed, there is a very good retaurant in Las Galletas called 'Fabiola' it is in the underground shopping center by the big concrete bell tower and difficult to find if you aren't already aware it is there. It is well worth a visit, the food is top notch, and good food places are in short supply, so pay at least one visit early in your stay, it will probably become your local, if not the 'Atlantida' is on the sea front at the opposite end of town.
I hope I haven't painted too bad a picture, but I'm telling it like it is so you won't be too disappointed if you stay here, basically Don Pedro has a shower and beds, anything else might be seen as showing off, but it is bargain basement, and I won't be staying again, even though I worked out it only cost £7 per person per night . You get what you pay for.
