We stayed here for one night in room 203 because it was convenient for a wedding we were attending nearby. I wish I'd read the Tripadvisor reviews before I booked. The hotel is ok for somewhere to sleep but the following points made us grateful we were hardly in the room:
-The sink in the bathroom needed a good scrub - it was green around the taps!
-One of the four pillows on the bed had no pillowcase
-As my husband walked through the doorway he got cobwebs in his hair (there were also cobwebs on the stairs up to the first floor)
-Oddly there was only one bedside table - there had clearly been two at some point because you could clearly see the mark on the wallpaper

Finally, in the morning, our tea and toast took so long to arrive, we'd actually finished our cooked breakfast before they came.

You get what you pay for and we weren't expecting anything grand (as previously mentioned, the style is dated with patterned curtains, bedspread and carpet and a border around the top of the wallpaper) but the room was £90 and compared to the nearby Travelodge's rooms at £40, that offers better value.

This hotel has seen better days. Carpets were threadbare, and my room had a damaged basin surround and the bath panel was knocked about. The headboards screwed to the wall were for twin beds, although the room now has a double- so the light switches are hidden behind the pillows. There is no separate bar- one room acts as dining room, bar and breakfast room. I was amazed to be asked to pay for the room on arrival, even though it had been booked by a local reputable business.

We stayed for one night. The hotel definately needs refurbishment. It is very 1970's. Some up to date amenities such as air-conditioning is also needed as our room had none. Breakfast was ok - we ordered the 'best breakfast' option but it certainly was not this. It was light on portion! I thought the £88 for one night inclusive of all was not worthy of our stay. Staff are friendly and helpful and the place is moderately clean. The corridors smell of damp. Plenty of parking - so thats good and location is good. Just because there are not too many hotels in Ware does not mean that there should be any compromise in quality. Come on Roebuck - pull your socks up!

Ok so its not been upgraded since the 70's and things look a little tired. The staff were all helpful and everything was clean. I was upgraded to a suite tucked away at the end of a corridor on a top floor (great it will be quiet!) which I thought was marvellous as it was a big room with a comfy bed, flats screen tv, warm etc.

HOWEVER! If you get upgraded to this room (118 I think) its situated right over the reception JUST SAY NO. the noise from the reception area continues till late and then starts again about 0400 hours. Also I think the room next door is a staff room as it came alive at 0430, along with setting up of the conference room next door. Worst nights sleep ever ensued.

the food was ok - sort of harvester or Beefeater standard, I would go again on business but I'll ask for a different room.

It is tired and some repairs are needed but my concerns after reading other reviews weren't necessary.

  • Liked — Comfy bed and pillow
  • Disliked — Noise form reception and assocaited goings-on

Just don't stay here...

This has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and our main complaints were about the decor and the things that went wrong with our room.
The room was a good size, but wallpaper was peeling off the walls, many of the power sockets didn't work, the main light in the bedroom buzzed loudly, the duvet had a hole in it, the hot tap for the bathroom sink didn't work, and the toilet didn't flush.
When I went down to reception to complain, a colleague of the member of staff dealing with me smirked throughout the entire conversation.
Even if things had been working, the room was really overpriced. We paid £90 a night. You would get a better value experience staying somewhere like a Premier Travel Inn.
There's no way we're going to stay here again.
