Book this hotel well ahead. Be sure to go to the Hotel's web site and view the map with the cabin locations. If you can, get a cabin with a deck... looks over the tiny but beautiful river, which is bordered by huge evergreen trees. Stunning. Makes you wish you could paint!

Cabins are cozy but comfortable enough. It feels like camping out there, but you have all the comforts of home. (Our room had a little kitchen.) We just didn't want to leave our room, as the view is so pretty from inside as well. There are firepits outside for those who want a little extra "camping" experience.

Because the cabins by the river are down below the road, there is no highway noise to speak of.. don't opt for #10 or 11 if traffic noise will bother you. Up by the road, you will also find a little grocery store and a restaurant that has quite a good and reasonably priced breakfast menu.

We have been going to this place for years, and it hasn't changed a bit. (so do expect old and worn interiors.) With the money you save staying here, do as we do. Head for the Ventana Inn and get a massage-- they will give you a robe and you can spend the afternoon by the pool (amazing views) and in the clothing optional hot tub!!

We stayed in Cabin #9 right next to the river. The first thing I noticed was how well kept the grounds and cabins were. The inside of our cabin was nearly spotless, the bed was clean and comfortable, and you can't beat the view of the trees and river from the deck outside. The kitchen had the basic utensils, gas stove, and a 3/4-size fridge. All things considered, it's a great bargain for what you get. Nearby restaurants/cafes are fairly good too.

Absolutely wondeful! Very quiet, right near the river (Cabin 5) and just perfect! The interior was adorable and very clean, supplied with plates, dishes and utensils for two. I would highly reccommend this place, especially for the price.

The Ripplewood resort was quite rustic. Our only problem was we chose the worst cabin (the duplex) because we thought it would be convenient since we were traveling with another couple. They had several cabins on the river which were bigger and probably nicer. The cabin was clean, but the bathrooms were strange. Our friends shower was TINY and the toilet in ours was situated with a wall very close in front of it. There is not a lot of accommodations along there and overall the Ripplewood Resort was nice. In all fairness the person taking our reservation said that cabin was not the best -- we should have taken her advice. The restaurant there was quite good. Location was great.

We stayed there on Jun 1-3, 2007. From the look of cabins on internet, they are old and rusty. The price is reasonable. We have two families and booked cabin 10 and 14. After we checked in, we found both cabins are very clean. Since I have 2 small children under 6 and we play hide and seek all the time, I have checked under the bed, dinning table, bed side table and behind sofa. They all end up clean. That's totally out of my expectation. The mattress are good and supportive. The kitchen in 2 two cabins has stove, oven and refrigerator. We had concerns about the noise at cabin 10 which is near highway 1 before we booked. It turned out acceptable. In fact, the cars going to cabins near river were making more noises because there was a short downhill road from cabin 10 to the river.
