This is a potentially really pleasant little country lodge hotel with a great location, nice gardens, a decent restaurant and within easy distance of various local attractions such as Hornsea.
Lots of the nearby villages are very picturesque so as a base for exploring it was ideal.
The rooms were pleasant however our room had no hot water which after a long drive was a real bind.we were there for a special birthday celebration and this was a dampener. Had the response been helpful in sorting it out we would have felt better but it took two trips downstairs to ask at reception to get anyone to even try to assist. We were told they would boost the immersion and we thought we would have dinner and then a relaxing bath before bed. Not a chance the water was still stone cold late evening and we reported it again to be promised that it would be fixed the next morning . We were only staying one night - hot water didn't transpire, the response was frankly uncaring and unhelpful which was a real pity because frankly everything else would have received a plus but this wasn't what we wanted or expected and I wouldn't return unless the hotel learned better how to resolve problems and look after the needs of its guests .
We bought the offer through groupon and I would have thought that we were somehow being ignored because of that but other guests staying at the same time also using the groupon offer were not experiencing similar problems . Hey ho this hotel has loads to offer so come on management get your act together
