A small group of us recently stayed here over the Floriade weekend. We had a fabulous 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the 8th floor overlooking the lake and a single bedroom apartment on the first floor. The location is excellent and within walking distance of Floriade and City Centre with a magnificent view over the lake up to Parliament House and over the surrounding mountains. The apartments were spacious and the bathrooms and kitchen clean. One downside was that the rooms were cold in the evening and we couldn't get the air conditioner to work in either of the apartments, but there was sufficient extra bedding so that this wasn't an issue overnight. Just an additional note - our original booking was for 2 x 2 bedroom apartments (there were 6 of us), but unfortunately the person who took the booking double booked and even when I re-checked, reconfirmed and paid the booking 3 weeks prior to coming, was assured everything was fine. However, when advised of the mix-up on arrival the staff could not have been friendlier. They provided a one bedroom apartment instead of a 2 bedroom and did everything they could to ensure that we were happy and comfortable in the apartments they provided and refunded the additional money we had already paid for the second 2 bedroom apartment. It turned out just well. Thank you to the manager, receptionst and also the maintenace man who did a lot of door opening for us in the lobby - we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

Execellent accommodation. We had a 2 Bedroom/2 bathroom apartment on the 11th floor overlooking Lake Burley Griffin. Very very clean and warm. Controlled heating/cooling. Good furnishings and fittings. Website photos are as seen in the apartments. Good service and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Will be happy to stay again in September.

Stayed one night in a two bedroom/two bathroom apartment on the 12th floor. It was furnished tastefully and had great views across the lake. The air-conditioning worked very well (even though it was roasting outside) with outlets in the lounge and master bedroom. A recent review was negative but perhaps it's the luck of the draw on which apartment you get. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Capital Tower 2 years ago when it was still owned by Pacific International. We had read some of the past reviews and thought the accommodation would still be the same standard. Unfortunately we were wrong. We had booked into the hotel for 4 nights, but checke dout after the 1st night. the room were had was shabby and hot. The temp in Canberra on the first day was 41, and the air con barely worked, you had to sit right under it to feel it, and it didnt reach the bedrooms, and as there are no screens on the windows we couldnt open them at night so we had little sleep because the rooms were so stifeling. The bed spread, and chairs had cigarette burns in them, and the carpet looked like someone had pulled a motor apart on it, there were stains everywhere. The hotel definatley isnt the 4.5 stars they advertise. We were told the apartments were owned individually so some people choose not to take care of them.We were glad to check out.
