Clean rooms and convenient location. Close to shopping and city centre attractions. Good restaurants nearby (down stanley st.) and friendly staff. Stayed there for 5 days. I would stay there again.

We have stayed here 3 times now and this time appreciated the newly renovated rooms. The rooms are all now double glazed which makes for a very peacful sleep in the middle of Sydney.
Each time we have found the staff to be friendly and rooms always clean. Nice large king beds and showers with good pressure
The location is great - a 10 min walk to the heart of Pitt STreet Mall or the the entertainment district, china town, art gallery, and the clubs and cafes of Oxford Street .

We stayed three nights at the Stellar recently. We arrived early and were pleased to be able to check into our room straight away. The female receptionist was very nice and very accommodating. The room was facing Wentworth Ave, but had double windows, so we didnt hear as much traffic noise as we thought we would. The room itself was nicely done out in modern colours and spacious and clean. (The bed was super comfortable too) . The bathroom was fantastic and large and the water pressure was great. (Could have done with more than one bar of soap though). It was nice to have the kitchen facilities to make a cup of tea or whatever. The hotel itself was within walking distance of the city (about 10-15 minutes). We also walked to the Paddington Market one morning and that took about half an hour. We ate most nights on Oxford Street as there are heaps of cheap eateries along there. The only complaint I would have about our room (and it is minor) would be the poor television reception, but we werent there to watch t.v! We had breakfast once in the Green Light lounge and at $9 a head it was reasonably cheap and you could eat all you wanted. All in all, I would recommend Stellar.

Location is good, as it is typically at the edge of Hyde Park. About 5 - 7 minutes walk to either Central Train Station or Town Hall Station. To City Centre by walking would probably take 10 - 15 minutes. I believe I got upgraded to a Deluxe room (I was too tired to listen properly to what the woman told me) and it was fantastic. The room was clean and fully furnished. The staff were really helpful and I really enjoyed my stay. The only downside to my room was the view out of the window. It just faced some back alleyway. And that the self service laundry room was next to my room. The sound didn't bother me though.

All in all, I say it was a great stay and I would glady stay at Hotel Stellar again on my next trip back to Sydney.
