Clean, big, with all the confort. There was the kitchen in the bedroom. They have a laudry with coin ( confortable when you have to wash clothes spending few money), and at the reception they were very nice. Our room was busy thus they gave us a bigger room for the same prize.
It is in the centre but at the night time it is quite.
They have a garage ( unfortunable few place).
It is close to Oxford street ( full of pub, restaurant but also a lot of gay, trans, but it isn't dangerous).
The person at the reception are very nice.

A great location to visit Sydney from... A somewhat reno'd hotel that had all the comforts of home; a small kitchen, a great shower and three twin beds.

We stayed in a triple on the top (6th) floor; near the elevator. This way the only complaint we could make during our stay. The noise from the elevator was enough to wake us in the morning; we didn't go to bed early enough for it to be a problem in the evening. Even with our room facing the street, there was very little street noise. The lift seemed to be really the only issue. I think that being at the top floor may have been the reason. (??)

The staff were great. They looked after our bags when we arrived early before check-in, they helped contact tour companies and taxis. and they locked up our bags when we had a late flight out. They were great bartenders at happy hour. Just all-round; more than eager to please.

The internet was very reasonably priced and lots of terminals. There is a coffee shop next door so during the week, the customers of the coffee shop use the internet as well. Still seems to be enough for all. Coffee Shop is closed on Sunday!!

We enjoyed the fact that it was a little bit older and seemed to have a bit of character to it. Its a small, personable place where the staff make you feel appreciated!

I spent 3 nights here at the end of March in a twin room on the 6th [top] floor. The beds were comfortable, the room a very good size, although a tad gloomy, and the bathroom large and modern.

Unfortunately the hotel is an older building and our room was next to the lift well which was very noisy until late at night and again early each morning. We were also bothered by noise from the room next door, caused by a woman endlessly walking in hard heeled shoes on a tiled floor. On the good side there was very little street noise as our room faced the back of the building.

The front desk staff were always courteous and helpful and were happy to store our luggage for the day when we checked out. Wireless internet access is reasonably priced and there are computers available for use in an area off the lobby.

The location is good if you don't mind walking; the city centre, Oxford Street, King's Cross, Woollomooloo, and Surry Hills are easily accessible. One of my favourite Sydney restaurants, Longrain, is a very short walk away.

Recently organised 3 nights accomodation in 2 rooms for my parents & my aunt & uncle at Stellar Hotel in Sydney after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. Booked through Wotif as unable to get 2 rooms direct through the hotel as they were fully booked. My parents were after accomodation within their budget & were very impressed with the quality of accomodation & hotel location for the price they paid.(Worked out at approx $150 per night per room, great for Sydney unless you want to stay in a dive!)

They had no complaints what so ever with their rooms which were very clean & spacious. Close to the city centre & all the tourist spots as well as transport. Plenty of places to eat close by.
Would definately book there again!

“A great value city centre hotel”

Hotel Stellar

9 Mar 2008

Sidney hotels are quiet expensive, especially around Circular Quay and The Rocks.
The Stellar is situated very well for access to trains and buses, plus its not too far from the main attractions and at a much more affordable price. Only minutes away was the beautiful Anzac memorial and park.
All the staff on the 24 hour reception were very friendly and provided an excellent service. On our last day they locked our luggage away for us so we could sightsee until it was time to catch our flight and we enjoyed the use of the lounge (and the free pastries!) as well as toilet facilities.
The small lounge adjoins a friendly coffee shop which is open during the day and serves good value breakfasts. There is a small bar but we found a nice restaurant and pub just down the street.

Our room was vey clean and quiet spacious, with good cooking facilities if needed. Bathroom was bright and modern and the air conditioning was excellent.
If we return to Sydney we would stay at The Stellar.
