The Swiss Grand Resort in Bondi is possibly one of the worst excuses for a 4-5 star hotel I have ever stayed in.
I'm sure that it was beautiful when first built - the only problem here is that however many years ago that was, the hotel does not appear to have had so much as a lick of paint or a change of curtains/carpets since.
Our room had decor that wouldn't have looked out of place in the Simpsons' kitchen - gaudy yellow and blue like the inside of a 1970s caravan.
The carpet was, I would guess, about twenty years old, complete with huge iron burn in it.
Luckily, my partner and I had only booked 2 nights, so took in in good humour and decided to use it just as a base for exploring Bondi's 30 deg c beach and walking trails.
The only thing that prevented our stay being a disaster was the friendly and helpful staff there and the great weather.
Also the roof-top pool and sunbathing area with bar was nice.
In summary - one to be avoided (although there aren't many alternatives in Bondi, which is a small resort recommended more for a day trip than a longer stay)
