Overlooks Cockle Bay and Darling Harbour – great views, both day and night. However, close to major highway interchanges, when you on a high floor, it really adds to the interest, but if a lower floor, one can only imagine. Used the club lounge on 9th floor, great views – best breakfast yet, complimentary, also free wine available in the early evening. Staff really were very helpful.

No self-laundry available to guests, however local laundry available just around the corner at $12 a bag, washed, dried and folded.
10 mins walk from City Hall Transport subway and the shopping. If you want restaurants, go to Cockle Bay, they are great.
Rooms nicely furnished and spacious, internet connection available.

The hotel is very clean and well situated in Darling Harbour in Sydney.

HOWEVER, the hotel is surrounded on 2 sides by a motorway that is build on stilts.

If you are on the lower floors then you are likely to find it noisy. However, if you stay on the "club" floor at the top of the hotel then you do not hear any noise at all.

I stayed on the 9th floor and had no trouble sleeping.

I know people complain about the location, with it not quite being on Darling Harbour, and of course the flyover across the road. However, if you want a trim and efficient city hotel, located in earshot of most attractions, with good service, nice rooms and a very good Sydney price - Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour is the answer.

The concierge and reception staff were helpful and kind. The breakfast buffet was a good reprieve for the day ahead. Really, you can't complain when the price for the room was so competitive compared to other Sydney city hotels in that hotel genre. However, some little niggles:-

Dinner was about average, service was slightly wanting and the menu needed a greater selection of food. Of course, construction work in the hotel spoiled the ambience slightly, but I suppose I did go in the off-peak season.

Stayed 6 nights at the Crowne Plaza whilst attending a medical conference at the congress centre Darling Harbour. Not the most picturesque location but perfectly placed for the fantastic Darling Harbour. The key attribute is a fantastic bar where you can really enjoy Australian hospitality after a hard day. Good breakfast, clean rooms and fantastic beds. Whilst we were there the All Blacks stayed at the hotel so if its good enough for the best rugby team in the world its good enough for me.
