You simply won't beat this B&B for the combination of strengths that it has -

- Located in The Rocks a 5 min walk from the Harbour Bridge and Circular Key, 10 min walk to the Opera House
- Excellent service from Bridget & Jeff, the owners
- Large rooms (ours had a shared bathroom)
- Fantastic breakfast
- The price (1/3 of what you would pay for a hotel in that area)

We had a great 5 night stay on our first trip to Sydney. Bridget wasn't around when we visited but Jeff made sure that we were well looked after. Although we shared a bathroom with another room, we never even saw the other couple when we needed to use it. The rooms are serviced daily and the shared bathroom was always spotlessly clean.

The B&B is set in a large traditional house, which made it charasmatic. One other reviewer has mentioned the freeway, which is located above and across the road from the B&B. As they have noted you can't see it (it is high above the B&B) and you don't hear it.

If you like B&B/guest houses as opposed to hotels, this is the place for you - we'll be back.

This was our first trip to Sydney and I was shocked at the overall prices for accommodations in Sydney. Then I discovered Bed and Breakfast Sydney Harbour through, of course, Trip Advisor. It is right in the heart of the rocks area just next door to the Shangri La Hotel (for how much a night?). A very short hike to the Harbour Bridge and the Opera house. Couldn't ask for a better location. We stayed three nights on our first stay in the Flinders room and one night at the end of our stay before departing home in another room. Both rooms had the shower and toilet down the hall which we shared with one other room, never even saw the people from the other room. Every morning we had a really lovely large breakfast with "proper" coffee. In Sydney a breakfast like this would cost at least 12.00 - 18.00 a person! The rooms were large, clean, beds were comfy and the room had a little balcony..very small but none the less... nice. Our host, Jeff and his dog Mate (what a cutie) were very gracious. Let us leave a portion of our luggage we had acquired in New Zealand that we didn't want to cart around the rest of Australia and we just picked it up our last night before we flew home. I felt VERY fortunate to have been able to get accommodations at this B&B. I feel it was one of the best values I received in all of Australia!! The Pogues, California

I really enjoyed my stay here (two nights, but next time will be longer). The B&B was terrific value, very friendly, comfortable, clean and in a very good location. Yes, it's very close to a major road, but that was never an issue (must have good sound insulation, plus the cars in this section of road are whizzing past at a constant speed, not accelerating or braking).

Jeff was extremely helpful without ever being overbearing. You really got the impression you were staying in an old friend's house.

Breakfast was tasty and the outdoor seating area was a pleasant place to enjoy it.

I would recommend staying here, particularly over a hotel.

We had two nights stay booked in the B & B Sydney Harbour. Jeff the owner met us on arrival and was so helpful about the surrounding area and hints and tips. We had two different rooms for our stay but Jeff & co moved all our bags and it was done without any fuss. Both rooms were impeccably furnished, really light and airy. The bathrooms weren't in the room but that recently wasn't a bother as it was just down the hall - I think we shared it with another room while we were there but it didn;t cause any problems.
The breakfast was absolutely lovely - a huge choice (including pancakes - highly recommended - yum!) and we sat out in the large sun dappled courtyard at the back.
The next day we had to leave at an ungodly hour to get our flight but we were shown where we could help ourselves to breakfast so we didn't go without (and they sorted our taxi for us).
This is really well located in the Rocks, it is all just a short walk away - the Opera House is around 20 mins walk (down hill on the way there!).
All in all a brilliant stay - we were a bit worried about being disturbed by the road nearby but this was completely unfounded as the B&B was quiet and we felt very rested each morning.
One of our favourite stays in the holiday.

“Great Location”

This hotel is in a fabulous location and, after seeing some of the rest of Sydney, I think The Rocks was one of my favourite areas.

The main plus points for this accommodation are the close proximity to the Opera House and Circular Quay and also the price. This was a great value stay within such a prime location.

The rooms were pleasantly furnished though we did splash out a little extra for 'en suite' only to discover upon arrival that we weren't sharing a bathroom with other guests but that our bathroom was across the corridor from our room. So, not 'en suite'. This made for very annoying late night bathroom trips - probably much to the annoyance of the guests in the room next to our bathroom - esp. with the heavy wooden doors banging!

The breakfast was nice enough - cereals, fruit and a choice between pancakes and a cooked 'Aussie brekkie.'

One slight feeling we came away with is that we were overlooked in favour of other guests - we were ignored on the first day we went to breakfast (only to find out we were 5 minutes too late and they had stopped serving - no one bothered to tell us until we asked) and on the second day, again, no one came to take our order - we had to search out the staff and ask them. This did improve during our remaing days though my husband and I (in our late twenties/early thirties) did get the impression that the 'older' guests were more valued clientele...

Overall, probably would stay here again if ever back in Sydney - just for the location and price, if nothing else.
