Excellent multi-story hotel situated right on the waterfront and the Esplanade. The Cairns Casino is right across the street

Flawless check-in and check-out, great room. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff.

There are two drawbacks with this property - both minor. 1) No self-serve guest laundry. May it would be inconsistent to have this service at a property at this level, but Cairns is a tourist city. The nearest self-serve is at Gilligan's Backpacker hotel where washers and driers are $3 a piece with soap $2. 2) We found dinner and breakfast rather pricey. Dinner for two with no wine came to near $100. The breakfast buffet was overpriced.

Definite would use this property again.

I spent 6 nights in an executive room at the Hilton Cairns and found the hotel to be above average. The hotel does not appear to have been renovated for some time, but the rooms and furnishings were kept clean and in good shape. My room had a balcony but looked out towards another building and did not have much of a view.

I had access to the business lounge which was rather small and offered limited hours, but put on a nice breakfast buffet and cocktails in the afternoon. The staff was very attentive and helpful, but the furniture and look of it, as well as the rooms I saw within the hotel are in need of a renovation.

It has a very small fitness area and a couple of treadmills near the pool. The pool area was clean and had a nice size pool and lounge chairs.

The hotel is well located on the water and a short distance from the boat terminal where boats leave for the Great Barrier Reef. There are also several restaurants and some shopping a short walk from the hotel.

Overall this property was clean and comfortable and well located if you wish to stay close to the city center of Cairns. But nothing either luxurious or fancy.

We recently stayed at the Hilton in Cairns for 4 nights and had a great time. The staff were excellent and the rooms on the top floor were first class.

A great place to stay

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and my only regret is that it is unlikely I will visit Cairns again.
The service is well above average for a hotel of this class. From the moment you arrive the staff make a real effort to welcome you.
I used the Hilton website and booked a Spa room. I would definitely recommend these rooms. The spa was a novelty in a hotel for my 9 year old son, who tried to spend hours in it every evening. Within minutes of arriving at our room a young lady arrived with hand made soaps and rose petals.
The hotel is perfectly located in Cairns, within walking distance of the bars, restaurants and quay for Reef trips. The closest decent bar is 'Rattle 'n Hum', good beer and food and the strangest Gents toilet in the world!
As for eating, a must is 'Dundees', which gives you the opportunity to try kangeroo, crocodile etc. Not to everyones taste but we loved it. The atmosphere was great and when I said that it was the best meal we had so far on our trip, the chef came out to meet us.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.
