Hotel is in fantastic location, closest in Melbourne to sporting precinct such as the MCG and Rod Laver arena. Also a very short and pleasant walk into the CBD. The rooms are all very well kept and the pool area is like a dream getaway in the city!
The staff are of the highest standard and are only too happy to help with any requests.
I will definatley be back again.

We were in Australia for the Ashes Test in December 2006 so we were in Melbourne for Christmas.

The Saville City Suites were very comfortable with good amenities and the location was brilliant - right opposite the MCG!

We stayed at the hotel over Christmas and New Year. Our initial two week stay was fairly good for the price we paid. It has a good location, the staff are helpful, however it is a bit worn around the edges. Whilst there the air conditioning unit failed to work so it was repaired in-house. A few days later the unit caught fire (after supposedly being repaired) whilst we were asleep and the smoke alarms failed to work. Fortunately we discovered the fire and the fire brigade were able to put it out. We were moved to another room where you guessed it....the a/c unit also failed to work. We promptly checked out fearing for the safety of the hotel and not without a dispute with the management who were extremely reluctant to give us any compensation. If you do decide to stay here, which I would strongly advise you not to do, keep an eye on the a/c unit and check the fire exits.

Got a really good deal for this hotel through [---]. Location is excellent, it must be the closest accommodation to the MCG and Rod Laver Arena. Great access to the city via a footbridge, you can truly enjoy the views of this part of Melbourne. We walked to Federation Square, then walked to Southbank and to the casino, really enjoyed this, just make sure you wear your walking shoes.

We had a studio twin room facing Melbourne Park so it had great views of the Tennis Centre, the only problem was at night you can hear the trains and it woke me up a couple of times but I'd put up with it for the location of this hotel. The room was decent, everything you need and the mini kitchen with microwave was a bonus. Can't comment on the gym, pool and restaurant since we did not get to use it, we were too busy walking around town. The hotel is quite far from any stores/restaurants, it's about a 15-minute walk so bring some food and drinks with you and maybe some cereal, bread or milk for breakfast as I find the hotel restaurant quite expensive.

Staff at this hotel are courteous, helpful and friendly from reception to housekeeping, so overall it's really good value for money.
