I was beginning to think that I had gone mad or was living on a different planet to the people who had previously rated Aaron All Suites highly but find that the three other recent reviews share my family's experience!

We arrived from Singapore at 2.30 am, having notified the hotel that we would be arriving at that time. Whilst I appreciate that its difficult to be cheerful at that time of the morning, the man who checked us in was thoroughly miserable. No offer of help or anything.

The apartment was very very basic (may have been suitable for a monk?). Strange layout with a bedroom off each side of the kitchen which was the centre. No window in the twin room and air conditioning unit only in the kitchen. Whilst technically clean, there were dents in the wall and holes in the carpet. Towels the size of flannels.

Whilst I can't give this one star, it barely made two...

We recently spent three weeks staying in and around Perth and IMHO Aarons was the poorest of the hotels that we stayed in during our visit.

We had one of the penthouse apartments here, staying for five nights and the hotel proved to be a big let down (we would have moved but the cricket was on and there was no where else to go). The hotel in general is quite shabby around the edges and this extended into our apartment where the carpet was worn and the fridge didn't work. The biggest problem though was that the bedroom had no a/c which made it very uncomfortable at night. In addition the a/c unit in the main living area was totally ineffective when it came to cooling the room down which is not good when the temperatures in Perth are hitting the mid 30's.

During our five night stay our room was not cleaned properly once. The cleaning service extends only to the making of beds and provision of clean towels and does not include (in our experience) the cleaning of the bathroom or general areas. This may have been the reason why we were forced to chase cockroaches out of the apartment on two seperate occassions (and no it wasn't the same cockroach as the first time it met an untimely death!!)

All in all a very disappointing hotel and not good value for money. With all of the other options in Perth I would definitely stay somewhere else.

This hotel is aweful and it all starts at the fornt desk. The service was rude and unhelpful. They have two tiny elevators and one broke down during our stay which we got trapped inside for 20 minutes. They advertised room service but the cafe downstairs was closed and looked like it had been shut down for months. The rooms are not fully equiped with proper cooking utencils and pots. Keeping all this in mind I am baffled at how this hotel can be rated FOUR STARS.

When reading previous reviews, I wonder whether previous reviewers stayed at a different place !

First thing, be warned - this place does not have any parking facilities. They have an arrangement with a parking station 2 blocks away (costs A$12 a day). Either that or street parking (meter from 8am-5:30 pm Mon-Sat). Very inconvenient and costly if you have a car.

Overall impression is one of a budget hotel/apartment block catering to the next level above backpackers. Elevators had graffiti scratched on the doors and the carpets were torn. This seems to be indicative of the clientele and/or their visitors. There is a bar/nightclub next door and the clientele there is also dubious.

Endless problems with studio room(s). First room aircon did not work and had torn curtains. Second studio had no exhaust fan in bathroom (never fixed over 7 night stay), housekeeping did not make beds properly each day, smoke alarm batteries (yes, batteries, not mains) went dead and beeped early in the morning, etc etc.

Apartments are individually owned and the general manager intimated that the standard depends on each owner. This may account for the seemingly decent reviews in the past.

Generally, it is false economy and does not really provide value for money. Having been to Perth before and knowing people there, there are definitely better places to stay. Shop around !

We'll never stay there again.
