I had a work function here for two days. Firstly the food was just terrible and not expectable. The rooms were old and had areas of mould and pubic hair. But the worst thing about this place is it is smack bang in the middle of a very bad area, with a very high crime rate. I only found this out after my car was broken into vandalized and even feces left behind. My advice is do not stay here and certainly do not leave your car in the car park unattended as this has been known to happen here in daylight hours. Not a safe environment for families. No reviews on the golf course. This is the first time I have ever written about a hotel but this one definitely take the cake for the worst place I have ever stayed. Good Luck!!

I was in Perth to attend a wedding and decided to give the smaller hotels/B&Bs a miss as The Vines looked more exclusive. We were given an upgrade from a 2 to 3-bedroom apartment (though there was no mention of this during check-in) which we discovered and rang back to check that this was correct.

The set up is bare but somewhat functional. 'Somewhat' because for an apartment, many necessities were missing, e.g. a simple hook behind the bedroom door would have been helpful. Or more than 2 hangers in the closet. The bedside table was sticky and under it were three sweet wrappers. It felt frustrating. We didn't get any Housekeeping service for the three days - perhaps they needed to be called but we weren't sure as this was not mentioned at check-in.

The kitchen was dingy and there were stained surfaces. i'm not sure how often surfaces e.g. bathroom vanity tops or floors were actually washed or scrubbed with soap but they were slightly sticky too.

All in all, quite comfortable, but only if you close one eye.

Booked a Deluxe King Room for Valentines day. Paid that bit extra to have the special room.
Special Room it was not.
Was advised Deluxe King Rm overlooked the golf course, but our room overlooked the tennis courts which made sleeping impossible due to the tennis court lights staying on all night.
Air-con in room was very noisy, that noisy hard to hear the TV.
Rooms were very tired looking could do with some fresh paint. Marks on all walls did not make a great impression, also rubbish was still in room, looked like not cleaned up before our arrival.
Bed also very uncomfortable not something you would expect in a 4 star hotel?

4 star hotel it is not, pushing to make it 3 star.

We recently booked an apartment online as we were staying with another couple overnight, as we were attending a wedding in the Swan Valley.
Check in was very prompt and we had Apt Number 50 which had a nice view over the course and was very clean (have stayed here before and found the apartments very tired). It is a 2 storey apt and the bedrooms were downstairs - 1 with a double bed and ensuite and another with 2 singles and another bathroom. You do get toiletries in the bathroom, hairdryer, laundry facilties, kitchen facilities - microwave, oven, cookware, cultery, full size fridge, coffee/tea and milk etc. Living areas were upstairs with the kitchen, meals area and lounge with tv with a nice sized balcony.
We got a good price online - $220 AUS for the night so splitting it with the other couple found it a cheap night away.
The lobby area is ok and they have a pool area at the main hotel and a smaller one at the apartments. We didnt eat at the hotel so I cant comment on the food.
It is very peaceful and in a good location if you like wineries etc but I would only consider it to be a 3 star hotel.
