This was our first port of call upon arriving in Perth and for me it had a lot to live up to. My husband is from Perth and his parents were still living there at the time.
All the three of them did in the run up to our arrival in Perth was rave on to me about how great Miss Maud's was, especially the breakfast!
(Let's just say that Smorgersbord was not a part of my vocabulary until after the visit!!)
Our flight arrived mid afternoon, so our room was ready to check in to straight away. Yes there were stairs up to a rather quirky lift but we were offered help with our suitcases and shown how the lift worked.
Our room was spacious with a huge flat screen TV and a large, modern bathroom, everything spotlessly clean & no tired or shabby decor in sight.
The one slightly odd feature of our room was what appeared to be the windows. On opening the curtains & drawing back the net curtains, I found a fantastic view of... the corridor! The bottom half of the windows was frosted, so there was very little chance of anyone being able to see in. All the same, it did mean that we had to rely on the air con for any air circulation within the room.
The best part of the stay at Miss Maud's had to be the breakfast buffet (feast!) though. Served in a room covered wall & ceiling with wooden cladding was a vast range of food to cater for every breakfast wish. We took our time, with my husband's parents joining us both mornings we were there, tried everything... and didn't need to eat again until the evening!
