We booked this hotel because we wanted to be near family and the tourist information recommended it as a midranged apartment. There are private car parking facilites.

The rooms are spacious and clean, but very dated and painted an odd colour. The room we had was in the shade and we had to put the light on all the time we were in the room. As far as we could tell very few of the rooms had any view.

we only stayed for 3 nights because it was depressing being in the dark and the painted brick walls made it feel very down market. The facilities are adequate for out needs but not comfortable and everything was old and in need of refurbishment. The staff were polite.

The laundry facilities were the best thing. A large washer, fast dryer, and ironing board meant that it was simple to deal with laundry during the stay which had acumulated while we travelling around. We realised that you get what you pay for and increased our budget for the next few weeks.

The location is good very near the harbour. I was appauled at the drug paraphinalia in the near by park. The cockatoos pull this rubbish out of the bins. This was not the hotels fault though.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2005. Its location is fine, right in front of the ANzac parade ground and the river. The rooms though run along the side of the building which is next to another building so you won't get any view at all and the light is blocked by the next building. The room ends up being quite dark since the light is blocked by the building next door and the curtains which you have to draw for privacy. There was a rather old and noisy air-conditioner for ventilation.

It's self-contained which is very convenient if you're travelling with small childen which we were. The furniture is a bit old-style but everything is pretty clean. Staff are okay - not particularly friendly but okay.

We would not stay here again but only because we prefer a room that's bright and well-ventilated.

City Waters is not the type of hotel you would fall in love immediately. In fact, I didn't quite like it at the first glance. But the price was quite reasonable (actually inexpensive) for a family of four, and it was self-contained and located at a relatively convenient location, so we settled there after shortly arriving in Perth. Our stay was very pleasant that after touring the South of WA and returning to Perth, we decided to spend another four nights at City Waters. No, it's not elaborate or fancy, but they have basically everything you need. (You might have to check to get a room with ovens though, because I think they only have those in rooms on the ground floor.) Bathroom cleanliness is always very important to me, and City Waters did very well in the aspect. The bath tub looked new and the shower worked very well. The only down side is the lack of ventilation so it tends to steam up.

Anyway, if you are looking for a budget stay in Perth, go to City Waters.
