I initially enquired about spaces by email and got a prompt response the same day in the affirmative, asking me to book online. I then filled in a credit card enquiry online and got no confirmation, even after a few email prompts and unsuccessful attempts to call the company. I then considered booking with another company as I didn't want to miss out, but having already given my credit card details I felt trapped. I finally got a confirmation email five days after making the booking.
The email said to call the evening before the seafari to confirm weather. Before my trip I heard about the oil spill but checked the Seafaris website - the site had been updated recently but there was no mention of cancelled trips. Finally I called up the night before and gave my details - only to be told that no, they're not currently operational and haven't been since the oil spill weeks earlier.
Now I understand that they weren't sure when they would be back up and running, but it's unacceptable not to contact customers with a confirmed booking to at least keep them updated. No other dolphin swim companies were operational on the day but had Seafaris notified me - or at least kept their website up to date - I could have made other plans.
Seafaris have a few competitors, give them a go instead.
