First impression was questionable.....the brick building had interesting architecture, but was not really inviting. Parking is at a premium, but we did find a place for our car each night we were there.
Once inside, the owner/manager, while not being very personable, was quite helpful in other respects. He showed us to our double room.....beautifully decorated and very comfortable with a nice view. The kitchen was a bit small for the number of guests staying there, as well as dining room which had only on huge table which filled the room, with seating on two long benches.
The upstairs had a lovely social area with lots of windows.....like a sun room. A piano and tv were there, and in another room there was a billiards table. Many of the rooms had fireplaces....don't know if they were working or not.
Yes, this large building sits on quite a sloped hill and walking could be a bit of a problem when going up! However......we did enjoy our stay there. I tried to talk with the owner/manager and learn more about him.....but all he said was he was from Germany and had lived there for 20 years.
