“Not very good”

This hotel was a disappointment.
The furnishing was shabby, the room was too hot but had no airconditioning and the window of my room faced the neighbours, so it was hard to be comfortable and maintain privacy.
Staff were not very helpful or knowledgable about the area.
Food from room service was terrible.
And it is not a good location if you did not bring your car.
There is a shuttle bus which helps a bit but it is not always convenient.
I wouldnt stay again.

Rooms were tidy, if not a little dated. Hotel was in the midst of some renovations, so they are updating as we speak. The view from the rooms and dining areas over the lake and mountains takes your breath away.
Staff are helpful and their pub menu hits the spot. There is a shuttle (day fare is available) that runs you to the town, around and back. Makes for good way to go out for supper with drinks without having to drive.

This hotel has nothing short of amazing views of beautiful Queenstown! Sadly the rooms are dreadful. The carpet in the 4th floor rooms is all water damaged and in urgent need of replacement. And the rooms need some pretty serious money spent on them. In fact, given that I just stayed in the Mercure Welcome Melbourne 2 weeks earlier I can safely say that all the Mercure hotels need some serious money spent on upgrading. The lobby of this hotel is quite nice but enter the rooms and be prepared to be shocked!!! And my advice is do not eat at the restaurant downstairs. We had a conference there earlier this month and it was just a rip off. Below average food and way too expensive. At least 10 of us had to send our meals back due to the sub standard nature of the meals. The bathrooms are all tired and the beds are hard as rocks. Our conference committee made the decision that our next Queenstown conference will be at non Mercure hotel (and something closer to town!). My advice: for the few xtra dollars you can do far far better and stay closer to town.

I ordered a steak sandwich and side vegetables from the bar. (The place was that quiet that the restaurant was not open). It took 25 minutes to arrive even though I was the ONLY customer there. The portion was small and it was cold. Unbelievable considering I was the only person there.
I went to complain and had to go to the front desk as the barmaid was not in the bar! She was waiting in the kitchen for the vegetables to be cooked as they had not been delivered! Completely inexcusable, appalling service.
Obviously I did not want to have anything to do with the kitchen again, so I had to drive into town to get something to eat.
Another grumble is the bathroom fittings are from the stoneage and the chair in the room was rocking when it was not a rocking chair. Lean back a bit and it would break.
I could go on but I can't be bothered. In short, there are much better hotels in Queenstown than this shambles.

The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. The kids had a great time in the pool, although a little chilly. The tennis court was a bonus too, with racquets and balls provided for nothing. Got the room for NZ$115 , so great value as the children (13&12) eat free when an adult purchases a breakfast. Best value for money anywhere in the world with fantastic views all round.
