The first impression as you drive up is one of it being a bit special. That lasts 10 seconds until you walk in the front door and realise there are 8 steps down to the lobby, and no ramp, and no-one to help with the bags. From that bad start it got worse, as there were 3 steps up inside our room! After a full day travelling lugging bags around is not ideal.
We had a King Suite overlooking the lake, and the view was very good, but the window was painfully small.
The walls between rooms are very thin, and we heard everything from a group of noisy, unattended children who ran around their room until the early hours each night.
We did not eat there at all. We thought 26$ for breakfast was completely out of court, and had a nice breakfast each morning in town for around 7$ each.
We did not use Internet access either, as it seemed over the top to be charging for a service many hotels will provide free of charge these days.
All in all we would not stay there again, and compared with other hotelsd in New Zealand this does not present value for money.
