Loved it, Loved it, Loved it! Did I say we loved it? My husband and I felt like we were in heaven. Kari and Bill made us feel at home and took care of anything we needed and more. The breakfasts were wonderful, with Kari using different place settings, china, and silver every day. It was the first four course breakfast we had ever had! We stayed four days, but wished it could have been more. We really didn't want to end our trip. Don't pass up an opportunity to stay here, it is worth the price. You won't be disappointed.

Pencarrow not only has some of the best views in the area, the B&B itself - the grounds, the common areas, the rooms are meticulously kept, and very "user-friendly." The owners, Bill & Kari, are fantastic - they've thought of everything you need and some things you didn't know you needed. What a great place. The breakfasts are 4 courses, and you will never eat better. Attention to detail is top notch. It's a very high-class, but relaxed B&B where you can be yourself. We ended our 2 week honeymoon here and were sad we didn't have more time to spend there. Can't recommend it enough!

This is a beautiful luxury B&B (but the prices are very good) with fabulous rooms and wonderful views. Kari and Bill who own it and run it are great hosts who make you feel right at home. They also make the very best breakfasts in all of New Zealand. The B&B is a little bit outside Queenstown, so you'll have to drive to get into the city. But it's worth it -- this place is so special, you won't want to leave.

“Best Place to Stay in NZ”

Usually, I contribute more negative reviews on Trip Advisor but my husband and I have run out of superlatives when describing Pencarrow. Kari and Bill think of every detail that would make a guest comfortable and include some surprises too. They take hospitality to a new level.

The rooms, the breakfast (which is more like a feast), the mid-day treat, the evening glass of wine, turn-down -it is all amazing . We stayed at Wharekauhau and Grasmere Lodge in NZ and were disappointed and felt that the price did not correspond to the level of service we received at these high end lodges. At Pencarrow, their service was far superior and was a HUGE VALUE. We have been traveling in NZ for one month, so far and would rate Pencarrow as by far the best establishment that we have stayed at. We would put Pencarrow on the same level as The INN at Little Washington, Washington, VA. However, the experience is more intimate and personal. Incredible views. I truly could go on and on...

The rooms (suites)are beautiful, wonderfully decorated and look brand new. They have incredible views, great toiletries, and a spa bath tub.

Kari and Bill also act as concierges and make wonderful recommendations on what to do in the area and make restaurant reservations, etc. They are more hosts than innkeepers.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip to NZ, and have to say that it was one of the highlights and probably the best-run place we have ever stayed at. The rooms are wonderful, the views spectacular but the most outstanding part is the hospitality shown by Bill and Kari. They really have thought of everything when it comes to providing a luxury place to stay - the breakfasts are magnificent and the little touches (such as home-made cakes in your room) are really wonderful. We loved our trip to NZ and can't wait to go back again - we would definitely include a stay at Pencarrow again in our next trip. If you celebrating your honeymoon or anniversary, and want to impress your partner, you should stay here.
