“Good Option -- More of a Hotel than a typical YHA”

I stayed two nights in a double room in this "hostel". It was pricier than any of the other YHAs that I stayed at while in New Zealand, but I definitely got a lot more for the money that I spent.

This YHA is in a MUCH more convenient location that the other YHA, which is more on the outskirts of town. There is a grocery store just a few blocks away and all the most popular bars are just across the street.

The kitchen is small and a little on the dirty side, but there is a fantastic view of the lake from the large windows. The kitchen is not open 24 hours, but small fridges are located in little alcoves in the hallways.

The laundry facilities are not the greatest.

I feel that this hostel lacked the community atmosphere that most hostels possess, but it definitely makes up for it with comfortable and well-appointed rooms.
