Stayed for three nights in March with another couple. We were allocated room 804. The views from the apartment make up for any of its shortcomings. The kitchen, lounge (with fire and large TV screen) and dining area are fantastic. Large windows and patio area overlooking lake. The bedrooms and small, no storage at all and no where to put the suitcases except on the floor. I noticed some carpet damage which would be due to this factor. The apartments are built on split levels, and could be difficult for the elderly or disabled, as no help at all with luggage. You need to drag your luggage up and down stairs. The walk into town although beautifull takes about 1/2 hour walking at a steady pace. A cab back cost $12.00, the bus is $3.50. I loved Queenstown, and will return and will stay at the Oaks again, just for the view. Staff could be more friendly, a smile can go a long way. We were told the BBQ worked, but whilst trying to BBQ very expensive purchased steaks, found that the three BBQ's were either out of GAS, no flint, etc. Sfaff were not at all interested. I would suggest that some sort of luggage stand be provided. It is very difficult living out of a suitcase that is placed on the ground, backbreaking.
