4 adults went in search of some sun !
Airport to hotel is a quick short taxi ride.Checking in at reception you will find pleasant and quick.A room safe for 4 days costs 10 euros.Rooms are up to date, bathroom on the small side, towels changed, bed made all with Spanish/German efficiency.Everything about the hotel looks new.
Hotel has two pools the first being on level 1 with a bar. Here you can help yourself to hot/cold drinks also a fridge is stocked for sandwich making. The usual two plastic cup alcohol rule applies.Plenty of sun loungers in a well kept area around the pool, water is filtered then cascades out of two large fountain type taps back into the pool. The second pool is located on the roof top it reminds me of the serial Downton Abbey with its large chimneys however these i'm afraid are air vents. This area is accessed by lifts to the 8th or 9th floor depending which lift you get in then the last bit is by stairs to the 10th floor.Up here you will find no bar or vending machines. Therefore its back down to level 1 for your 2 drinks. No sipping them on the way back up however if you do there is a bin up there.Great views of the bay and very little to no shade makes this a good place to be.Here we found a group of bored mermaids basking in the sun which needed a splash. This brought the CCTV twitching into life,Angela Merkel give this place a miss or it will really upset you. However us British known for our shy, quite, choir like behaviour retired to the bar for a drink to get over this privacy violation,CCTV twitched again to our answer of placing the empty cups in the 10th floor bin.
After an hour of trying to get a laughing tear from our mermaids we decided to give them aliases which are ;-
Missy ice cream , cold but sweet
Dolphin i'll walk on water rather than get my hair wet
Volumptuous I can swim under water but my bum doesn't
Parisian this pool isn't very deep / can I drink it
Pearl Russian euro diver /where did it go
Missy had a weeee tantrum on me ending in a plastic cup or two, of larger being graciously accepted and I can only thank her for such generosity. This broke the barriers and all nationalities ended up as one big group having a laugh.A plan was concocted under big brother, resulting in a shelf full of San Miguel cans from the local shop up on the 10th floor.
The sun ebbed away and it was time to visit the dinning room which is located below reception and can only be accessed by the stairs. The friendly staff keep this place spotlessly clean, tidy and well stocked. There is a large selection of salad to accompany pork, fish, chicken, sausage or pizza with chips of course.A smaller counter holds the usual deserts and fruit, with a large fridge holding an abundance of ice cream.
Breakfast their is fruit, cereal, bacon, sausage, boiled eggs and continental type if wanted. The three ordinary household toasters do their job however they do slow things down . Tea,coffee, juice, wine can be found at either end of the dining room.
On a night entertainment is a lonesome laptop playing music to an empty bar less room.We had the pleasure of wham one night the Beatles the next and I didn't try a third night. The main bar is next to reception and holiday makers collect their 2 drinks and sit on the wall outside reception practising the art of conversation. Here we met Nelson a Portuguese gentleman along with his beautiful Parisian girlfriend, the slim Jane sisters,Austrian couple along with cannot forget Lee and lets fall into the swimming pool fully clothed with my high heels on wife , now this did make the CCTV twitch. The group was growing all the time and eventually decided to walk the short distance down to a resort closing seafront which had very little to offer at this time of year.
We had a great time socialising in and around the hotel under the watchful smiling sun at a very reasonable price!
