We have just returned from staying in this boutique style hotel after booking it after a friend's recommendation. We had a great time here, the location is great if you are after some tranquility and don't mind being a little out of town. The room was a generous size, the bed was huge, and we had a room with a private terrace that was very pleasant.

Due to the location of the hotel (being a bit far out) had intended to eat there for dinner, but the menu was pretty expensive (36 euros per person) although the terrace would have made a very nice location for dinner.

Instead we hopped into a taxi into town (8 euros one way) and ended up eating there for a lot less.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples and for some peace and quiet. At one point, we had the whole pool to ourselves for a good few hours. The views are great, and the stay was very relaxing. I would recommend requesting a non smoking room however as we didnt, and the room we were given smelt strongly of smoke. We were moved to another room though which was fine.

We stayed here for one night at the end of our holiday and was very pleased because the calmness of the hotel was wonderful... Beautiful gardens and the pool was excellent. The staff here do couple as everything so service is a bit slow but hey so is the place for total relaxation..everything is on a personal level and there are wonderful lounges for coffee or drinks or reading all in white with attention to detail..We had a suite overlooking the pool with a huge verandah and relaxer chairs and table. the rooms are stunning as is the bathroom with lots of nice complementary bits! It is not the type of place for children. Mainly couples. It has about 12 rooms all minimalist and lovely. We had lunch outside and the warm Goat's cheese salad comes highly recommended.
It is a bit out of the way. You would have to drive in to Ronda about 10/15 minutes but to stay outside was a good idea if you require tranquility. I would very highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys contemporary living. Not for people who like the typical rustic spanish feel. I would definitely stay there again and would stay for more than one night just to completely relax after travelling around.

Stayed at El Juncal October 30, 2004. While the hotel is beautiful, it is rather inconveniently situated. The staff was very nice, and we enjoyed probably the largest and best meal in Spain there. Driving into Ronda was inconvenient, and we really didn't get to enjoy it much. During the colder weather, the patios are useless, and ours looked out onto the parking lot, so wasn't worth the money anyway. The rooms and hotel are very modern, sort of scandinavian in style, and the front desk checks in, does room service, and serves the meals in the dining room, which is very small. But the food there was extremely well prepared and presented. Only 1 offering however, the nightly special for 42 euros. Wine was extra.

I don't know if Diane (above) wrote her review on a personal offday but we have travelled extensively both in Spain & Europe and this is terrific value for money.

It is beautifully situated & decorated, peaceful, spotless, and the staff are wonderfully pleasant and efficient.

Yes, you have to walk all of one hundred yards to reception, but there are plenty of luggage trolleys for heavy bags.

There is a working vineyard on site.

The pool is massive and of an unusual design with more than enough sun loungers and towels and has a view to the mountains.

Dinner is a bit expensive at about £30 each + wine but is of a high standard and is a fixed 4 course.

Ronda is a 5 minute car journey and we saw or heard nothing of the "cement works" mentioned.
