Our favorite place to stay in this part of Andalucia. Situated a short distance from Ronda, the Arriadh is is a well-kept, small inn outside of the town of Arriate. This was our third stay and we are looking forward to returning. The hotel is located between two national parks and not far from the city of Antequera which which we found to be filled with art and history.. If you are looking for a cosmopolitan and luxurious hotel, complete with a city atmosphere, this isn't it. The accommodations are simple with rustic charm in keeping with the location. One great benefit is the ease in parking, right at the door of the hotel. Our host, Eduardo, made us comfortable in every way.. It is possible to order a light supper, beautifully prepared. Ours was served at a candle-lit table in front of the fireplace. Pay careful attention to the directions for finding the hotel, a little daunting at night and in the rain. A call to the hotel will give you clarification. You will encounter a somewhat rough gravel road. On our first trip, we were not sure where it led but soon the entrance to the hotel was in sight and Eduardo was at the door to greet us. Don't be discouraged by the road. At the end, you will find a warm welcome and a happy and restorative stay.
We prefer downstairs but the views are lovely anywhere.
