“Steps from the Charles Bridge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

Loved the location of this hotel -- between the Castle and the Town Square and steps from the Charles Bridge. The Bridge can be overwhelmed by people so being able to step out of the hotel first thing in the morning and walk it with just a handful of joggers and photographers on it, was very special. A key card is needed to get into the building so it seemed very secure despite its busy location. The hotel is in a renovated 400 year old building and as noted by others has no elevator. We had an attic room -- I think we counted 72 steps! At 5'3" even I had to watch my head in spots because of the low beams I had a chance to peak in a couple of the lower rooms, and if I have the chance to go back I would opt for one of them. They appeared to be more attractive and definitely roomier but for the price, we were happy with what we had. We enjoyed being able to watch a nearby fireworks show from our tiny attic windows on our last night in town. The hotel has no parking but the staff reserved parking for us for a fee at another nearby hotel before we arrived. Breakfast at the attached bagel shop did not have much selection or variety on the small buffet table but they did offer to prepare bacon and eggs for us. Great location, good value and helpful staff -- recommended!

Dear Sir/Madam,
let me thank you for your valuable feedback, we appreciate it. It is a pleasure for us to note that your stay in our hotel was memorable. I would like to mention that each of our 8 rooms is special. Two of our attic rooms are smaller but cosier and more romantic than the other rooms. Each room is specific for something else. DeLuxe rooms offers stunning views, Suite has a kitchenette.
Thank you for your nic words again and I hope to see you again in our hotel.
Kind regards,
Marketa Slaba – receptionist

“Outstanding - central location, lots of charm, helpful staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

This hotel is terrific.
The rooms look EXACTLY like the hotel photos. Our room on the front was HUGE with large closet and large bathroom with bath and shower.
The charm of the hotel and rooms is superb. Our windows overlooked the castle to the left and bridge to the left - magical!
The staff was really helpful and breakfast in the Bagel Cafe is great!
You are minutes from the old square, close to the castle, right on the bridge. It just was a wonderful experience.
The only thing you need to know is there is no elevator which may be an issue for some people but it's only 4 stories with 2 rooms per level.
This is excellent value.

Room Tip: was stayed on the third floor front which has great views - however people do walk by early evening so there is some noise which disappears by 11 ish

“Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

This is a lovely small hotel, with only 8 rooms. The reception area is simple but clean and the staff were very helpful with excellent English spoken. There are quite a few steps to the higher floors, but the rooms are large and stylish. Our bathroom was modern with both a shower and a large bath. The location is perfect, just before the Charles Bridge; you literally step on street and into the the hustle and bustle of Prague. We would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: Room 6 faces away from the road, so no stunning views, but quiet at night! Less fit people should ask for a room on a lower floor, as it can be quite a hike!

“Great location, old building charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Stayed five nights in September in one of the two attic rooms, those with funny beams. The pros of these particular rooms are:
- unique old building charm with wooden beams all around, sloped ceilings etc.
- cheaper than the rest of the rooms
- probably more quiet as no one gets to stomp on your head except pigeons
But these come with their cons:
- climb the stairs to the fourth floor every time you go to your room
- bang your head on the sloped ceiling every time you use the toilet
- no way to take a decent stand-up shower
- no reliable wifi in the top floor. I was only able to get the hotel's wifi standing up next to the door or sometimes I could get some other free wifi network (unrelated to the hotel) from the bed. I complained on the first day but nothing could be done. I asked the guests in the room in front of ours and they had the same problem.
Don't look forward to the free room upgrade offered: with only 8 rooms in the hotel and the hotel being quite popular there's next to no chance you get a better room than the one you paid for.
Otherwise everything was just perfect - the location, the furniture, the cleanness, the breakfasts. The room had a safe, a minibar, a teapot with a supply of teabags/instant coffee, a TV and even a music center. Booked both airport transfers with the hotel - very convenient and reasonably priced.

Room Tip: If you're taller than 180-185 cm don't even think of a cheaper attic room.

Dear Andrey,
thank you very much for taking your time to share the experience of your stay and for your positive comments. I regret the room did not meet your expectations - it is a very favourite room due to its atmosphere and cosiness. I do understand lower and sloped ceiling might be a problem for tall people - we should probably add the particular room height to our online detailed room description as the photogallery and the description itself may not be enough.
We were not able to upgrade you to a better room because we were full. I would like to ensure you that everybody who books good luck room has a fair chance of upgrade, it actually is quite high, as we have more deluxe rooms then doubles, just this time unfortunately was not available. As our hotel is situated in the old historical house with considerably thick walls, we sometimes encounter instability of the wireless internet. We know about this problem and we do our best to fix it to enable flawless wifi connection everywhere in the hotel as of course LAN is not suitable for all devices.
Thank you for your stay in our hotel, we believe you enjoyed it and will be happy to welcome you next time.
Yours Sincerely,
Marketa Slaba - receptionist

Very friendly, homely sort of place. Large rooms, nicely done out.
Room facing road was rather noisy at night with windows open.

Room Tip: Go for a room not facing Mostecka str
