This is a terrific little hotel just over the river and away from all the touristy areas. In a residential area and great way to get a taste of local life , restaurants, and hospitality. Rooms are a bit small but beautiful. Service is impeccable and staff goes out of the way to make your stay a a pleasant one.
Easy to get to the sites either by foot or tram......local restaurants are good and less expensive than those around the tourist areas. It you are looking for a marriott or hilton, this is not your type of hotel.

Would definitely stay next time in Prague!

Great staff and the room was nice. The location is not the best. Not advisable if walking long distances is not in your plans. Over a mile to most areas of interest. However tram stop is 4-5 blocks away.

We stayed in a Jr Suite that was well appointed. Full size bath shower combo and double bed , desk and sitting area in the main room. I would recommend if the extra distance is not an issue.

We stayed at the Hotel General for three nights. The staff was extremely attentive from the start--from the clerks to the doormen to the wait staff in the restaurant, everyone was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room on the 4th floor in the Admiral Nelson suite. The room was a bit dated, although appropriately appointed and with a nicely renovated bathroom.

My only issue with the hotel is the location--it is a 15-20 minute walk to/from the central tourist area. It is a very scenic walk and public transport is close by. However, there are not a lot of restaurants or things to see nearby, and it's not easy to just drop back by if you're spending the day out sightseeing.

Overall our stay in this hotel was very enjoyable and I would certainly recommend it!

We stayed in Prague for a few days and it was the nicest accommodations throughout our entire trip. The staff was so friendly, as soon as we walked in the door we got a welcome drinks and the staff sat down and explained to us where everything was in Prague and gave us tips about how to use the teams which was extremely helpful. Our room was very nice lots of nice touches, bottled water each night, bath robes and slippers. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and delicious. You got the buffet as well a selection of eggs, pancakes, French toast, etc. the location is good as well 20 min walk to pretty much everything. It was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it.

This was hands down the best hotel experience I have ever had. I miscalculated how far the hotel was from the main center and actually walked from the main train station... which was a great way to see a large portion of the city... but ended up being quite a trek since this is more in the business district of Prague. Upon arriving, every door was opened and the staff was beyond courteous and helpful. Vikki sat down with us and went over the city maps, how to use the public transportation and offered advice on tours and where to go.... she was invaluable and made our stay in Prague even better. The hotel is beautiful, classic and clean. The room was very comfortable and nice, the little details are not overlooked right down to the charming china teapot set up they have. Breakfast is included and I deeply regret that I didn't wake up in time the first morning I was there to make it. Wonderful spread in a beautiful room! Don't miss out! It may sound like I am gushing but I really feel that this great hotel completely enhanced our whole Prague experience.
