I often stay here on business if the AVANTI or CONTINENTAL are booked up, but I can also recommend this hotel for tourists.
This hotel was once THE flagship hotel in Brno, many celebrities have stayed there, even HM the Queen (Elizabeth II) was here.
Splendour and decadence, communist 60's style is what to expect, with a few pinches of Art Deco thrown in for good measure.
Rooms are on the small side, but comfortable. They have recently introduced free WiFi access, but it's a bit hit and miss depending on which room you are in as to whether you get a good signal.
Breakfast is great here - I particularly like the lady who stands there with the sole purpose of cooking an omelette for you, personally, with your chosen ingredients.
For CZ, prices here are high, but it's a chain, and right in the city.

Stayed here for one night. Three stars is a fair rating. The room was clean, but quite small. The bathroom was tired. Breakfast was good.

Great location, professional, helpful, friendly staff. The pool was small, with six people in, it seemed crowded, but large exercise room. Dining was average to above. I would recommend it.

Brno hotels are all overpriced for the city they are located in. I love Brno and worked here for 2 years so know it better than most, but Prague it aint! Despite this hotels in Brno cost as much as similar hotels in Prague and if you have the misfortune of being in Brno during one of the trade fairs hotel prices rocket. The International is located right in the centre and if you ask for a room at the front you will get fantastic views of the castle though the noise from the trams will be a penalty you pay. The staff (other than one elderly female pre velvet revolution front desk staff) are very friendly, helpful and speak perfect English. We extended our check out for 3 hours without any fuss or charge (except from aforementioned lady!). The downstairs resturant is of a high standard and yet as with all good eating establishments in Brno, really cheap. The bar food is terrible and best avoided and the service can be slow in the bar. The rooms are large, bright and well decorated. there are a good supply of toiletries and towels. There is a small (but perfectly formed) swimming pool. I have stayed at every major hotel in Brno whilst working there but this is now the one I return to when visiting with my family. Its nearest rival is the Royal Ricc which is a small central hotel with a real wow factor but the rooms are small and poorly lit but would rate equal to the International and probably better for couples but it is more expensive and hotels here are expensive enough as it is. For me the Holiday Inn and others near the trade centre are too far from the centre and are overkill on business and at night there is too much "business" of one sort or another going on in the bar area to expose spouses or families to.

“Take The "Premier" Out Of The Hotel Name”

Best Western Premier Hotel International

It's odd to see a Best Western in the Czech Republic but it lived up to it's normal reputation in the U.S. of being fairly average.

This hotel is very nicely located for tourists and access to the old downtown area of Brno. The guests appeared to be mainly business people.

Of all the places I stayed in the Czech Republic, the front desk staff at this hotel were the most "mechanical" and non-personable. They do have internet access in the rooms but you may have to change rooms a few times in order to find one which can actually access the signal.

The restaurant was quite nice and priced very reasonably.

Watch out for the stated check-out time. If you happen to be in the elevator and need to your your guest card to select a floor---and the clock strikes the magic hour---you can find yourself trapped in an elevator which won't move. This happened to several people on my check-out day. We had to continually press the call button in the lobby to bring the elevators down to release the guests.

I'm probably being too hard on this hotel but I think it doesn't live up to the expectations that it implies on it's website and in the advertisements.
