The hotel is situated opposite the opera house just a short walk from the station and town square. It is one of the oldest hotels in Krakow and still has lots of original features such as the beautiful stained glass window on the large staircase. All the rooms have impressive white double doors, the first time you put the key in the lock you have a sense of anticipation about what you'll find inside. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed, the room was rather small and dull overlooking the back of the hotel with no view. However it was clean and the shower room was spotless. The small pot of fresh primula on the table was a nice touch as was the two bottles of water that were left each day.
Breakfast was the usual buffet of cold meats, cereal, salad, cheeses and bread. Everything was fresh and quickly replenished.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, they nearly all spoke good English.
I would certainly recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Krakow on a short break but it might be worth paying extra for a superior room.
