We stayed at The Hotel Atrium at the very end of February for a short girls' holiday and we had a great time. We booked through Easy Jet and after a very late flight, we finally got to the hotel at about 11pm. The receptionist was very nice and gave us directions to get to old town to get a bite to eat. Because it was dark, we didn't make it to the old town but we found a small grocery store just around the corner which we made daily trips to during our stay. Our room was a pleasant surprise - so large! It had two couches that pulled out into beds, as well as a seperate bedroom with a large bed, desk and flat screen TV. The bathroom had a large tub as well as a shower and there was also a kitchenette. There were cups, plates, bowls, cutlery and pans provided but no washing up liquid. We felt guilty about not being able to wash them, but the cleaners did it every day for us. We did not eat in the atrium restaurant for dinner, but we had our continential breakfasts there every morning and found that it had quite a good selection and enough to fill up and get ready for a long day of walking! All in all the hotel was great, the staff were friendly and it was a great location. Its about a 5-7 minute walk to old town so you're close enough for the sites but out of the way of drunken stag parties. The hotel organises excursions, but if you are on a budget I would recommend going to the tourist information centre where they can direct you to get public transport of your own to the local attractions. We took a trip to the salt mines using a local bus service and it only cost 5 zloty return!
I would defintiely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Krakow.
