“superb but pricey”

Stayed at the Radisson for 3 nights for a business meeting and found it absolutely superb. The location is great- only 10 minute stroll into the main square and across from a lovely park. Staff are very helpful. Breakfast is excellent and the rooms are tastefully furnished- although it's clear some rooms are bigger than others. The bed is lusciously comfortable to sleep in. Unfortunately there's a lot of stag parties in Krakow and I don't think I'd have liked to be closer to the town centre and the gangs of drunkards. I heard no noise from where the Radisson is.

“Decent business hotel - but not exciting”

The Radisson is in a great location, a couple of minutes walk from the main square, the old town and the castle.

It has everything you would expect from a 4 or 5 star business hotel - good public areas, decent food and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Internet is wireless, fast and free and the TV has all the international channels you would want.

The drawback is the total lack of character - you could be anywhere in the world. The menu is entirely "international" with no Polish food to be seen - just a surfeit of ciabatta and cheeseburgers.

Thumbs up if you are on business and just need somewhere reliable to sleep - if you are travelling on vacation, I'd look for something with a bit more character.

“Great location; unusual "modern communist tacky" decor.”

Radisson SAS Hotel Krakow

I am writing this review from the hotel, as I am accompanying husband on 5 day business trip to Krakow. It is the first time in Krakow for both of us. We arranged for the hotel car to pick us up at the aiport for 26 x 2 zl. The driver promptly met us carrying a sign with our names. Check in was very fast. We have a nonsmoking king room with full breakfast included. The room is huge by european standards, but the decor is 'unusual'. I call it modern commmunist tacky. Everything is clean, but the 50's modernist furniture clashes with the surrounding medieval buildings. You get a blue room or a red room. It's good for a laugh. My only negative is we were given a room that looks onto a very ugly inner courtyard. Definitely ask for an outside view of the Platy Park or castle! In summary, the LOCATION CAN'T BE BEAT! You can walk to all the important sites from the front door!

We have just returned from a 4 day Eastervisit in Krakow.

Arrival

We would like to recommend that you contact Radisson and use their Taxi service for 65 zloty.
You will have a driver that awaits you outside customs with your name on a sign.
The driver takes your bags and in minutes your are on your way to Krakow and the Radisson
We where two in our party but the taxi /mini bus could take at least 6 so if you are a larger group its a great price.

Check in

We where greated friendly and proffessionaly.
And to our delight we got upgraded to a junior suite!
Needless to say we where happy!
We loved our room 613 with a beautiful wiew of the Wawel chastle.

Rooms

Modern design and colour scheme.
Luxurious marble bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower.
Shampoos, bathsalt, handcreme, bodultion, shampoo, conditioner, cottonpads, minicure set all awaits you in the bathroom.
A goodsize safe (laptop sized)is in the closet.
Nice artwork and a sittingarea with coffe making machine.
kingsize bed.
Spacious room as a juniorsuite should be.

Location

Again great.
Walking distance to Wawel (5-10min)and the old town is only a couple of minutes away and a brisk 20 minutes walk to the Jewish quarter.
And in the evening we could walk to our choise of resturants so no need for taxis.

Bar

the bar in moderndesign is situated on the grown floor.
Happy hour between 19-20.
"Buy two get one for free"

Breakfast

Radissons Superbreakfast
Good selection.
Apart from the buffe you could order scrambled, fried eggs and omelettes and pancakes from the chief.

Ambiance of hotel

Everyone from the reception staff, the taxi driver that picked us up , to the staff in the breakfast room was helpfull and serviceminded.

If coming back to Krakow we alreday knoew where to stay...

The Radisson SAS has to be the best located hotel in Krakow, it is so close to all amentities which means you can walk to just about anywhere.

The hotel is new so therefore has a great contemporary feel to it but unlike some new builds it has some nice touches which make it very comfortable.

It has an impressive open reception area with welcoming staff on the desk.

The bar is great and again unlike some hotels has a fab atmosphere - the staff there are friendly and helpful and will whip you up a cocktail or simply a cofffee and if you like fish tanks you'll find a very well kept one with an interesting selection of inhabitants!

Our room was huge with such a comfy bed! The decor was modern and comfortable and it had a great bathroom. Being Nespresso fans we were delighted to see one in the room.

We used the hotel to book our taxi to/from the airport and a trip to Aushwitz, the car was to a very high standard and the driver (Paul/Pable?) who had excellent English knew how to keep the balance between friendly and professional.

The Radisson SAS offered a very competitive rate of less than €130 per night - all in all a great service, a great location and great property.

By the way Crakow is cracking city - well worth a visit - but maybe wait until a little later in the year as it was petrifyingly cold!
