Recently returned from a three day stay in Krakow. This hotel is about five minutes walk from the main square and seven minutes from the train station. The staff were courteous and polite, the breakfast was average and the rooms clean with a wonderful power shower in the bathroom.
On the downside this hotel still allows smoking and the bedroom smelt strongly of smoke, the advertised bar is attached to the breakfast area and closes at seven pm after which it is not possible to have a beverage of any kind and there is no lounge area to relax after a days sightseeing. Directly outside the hotel is building work which started very early in the morning till mid afternoon.
I doubt if I would stay here again but if you want a central, clean and basic hotel with courteous staff this hotel may suit you.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for four nights at the end of January and we couldn't have been more pleased for the rate we paid.
The hotel is in the old town about 5 minutes walk from the Stare Miasto but on a very quiet side street. The rooms are very snug, we had to open the window most nights even in freezing January and the foyer is very welcome coming in from the cold. The hotel is very quiet, there was a school group there, but we never heard a peep from them, only at breakfast! The room was very spacious with a sitting area and a comfortable double bed off to the side. The ensuite bathroom had a shower over a full bath and was spotless and reasonably recently redecorated.
Breakfast is naturally continental, cold meats, breads, cereals, yoghurts and salad (!). There was plenty of it and it is kept refreshed constantly. The staff is very friendly as were any other Poles we met on our trip.
I would have no hesitation in staying here again or recommending it to others considering we paid €60 per night it was a real bargain.

just returned from krakow.stayed at the classic old town hotel it was in an excellent location for the square 2 minutes away. room was excellent size and nice and warm, breakfast was very good and lots of choice. staff very helpful. weather was very mild and dry .except when we were landing it was freezing fog and diverted to warsaw then took 4 hours to get to krakow by coach but this did not stop our enjoyment of such a wonderful city. food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. made our own way to auschwitz very easy thanks to reviews on here. anybody going is sure to have a great time - we did and will return again.

Booked the Classic Old Town Hotel with easyjet after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and the hotel certainly lived up to expectations. It was literally a couple of streets away from the old town square and we walked to it from the Railway Station in about 10 mins. It was so clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. The rates were extremely reasonable for a city centre hotel and I would stay there again if I go back to Krakow as I probably will sometime as it is so beautiful.
I would not bother with any official tours however as my companion and I just used the trains to get to Auschwitz and to the nearby salt mines which were unbelievable. The train travel was so cheap, practically for nothing! We had great meals in every restaurant we went to served by most pleasant staff.{ I had printed out a list of recommended restaurants from the easyjet site and it proved to be most useful and accurate} All in all a great little city and a gem of a little hotel.
