I booked the Wielepole on recommendations from this site and obtained the last double room for the weekend we wanted. We were due to attend a friend's wedding at 3.00 on Saturday afternoon and staff were helpful in providing the necessary information for us to arrive at the correct church on time. After a fairly heavy evening at a vodka fuelled Polish wedding reception, we woke late on Sunday and missed the 11.00 finish for breakfast as the clocks had gone forward for daylight saving time. The staff were really understanding and gave us a breakfast at 11.15, despite the fact that they were beginning to prepare the restaurant for lunch.
The room was spacious and spotless although fairly basic by western standards, and the rest of the hotel was lovely, particularly the reception area with the pastries and tea and coffee facilities. The free guide book was a nice touch and the beds were clean and comfortable. Location is perfect being only 5 minutes from the market square and opposite the more well known Holiday Inn if you need to get a taxi home. We would certainly use the Wielepole again on a return visit as it offers in our view outstanding value for money.

The hotel Wielopole has recently been refurbished, very clean/modern ! Superb shower!!! Good buffet breakfast provided. 10 min walk to main square and main railway station! Did Auschwitz by train via main railway station. 12zts. 90mins. Salt mines by mini bus at end of street, avoided tours as expensive and unecessary. Public transport cheap and punctual. Plenty of eateries, all cheap! Lovely city for long weekend, would recommend.

Overall, we had a good stay at Wielopole - our room was large, clean and comfortable, while the staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the amount we were charged for a load of laundry - we could have had another night's stay for what we paid. I am used to hotels overcharging for laundry services, but the Wielopole's pricing was excessive; I have never paid as much anywhere else I've stayed in the world.

We stayed at the hotel in early December to go to the Christmas markets in Krakow ,our stay at the hotel was marvelous.The hotel is very well situated just of the main square in a quiet street, the hotel was very clean,rooms very well presented,and the staff could not been more helpfull.The outside is covered in a plastic cover while it is being decorated but this did not pose any problems,good value for the money i would stay there again
