Very nice clean, modern, spacious hotel. My friend and I stayed here for one night in May 2008 and wish it were longer as unfortunately for us, we then had to move on to the Kazimierz II.
The Columbus is in an excellent location, right by the number 13 tram stop. The no 13 goes all the way up to the train station so is easy access to the airport or trains to Auschwitz etc. Also, on another plus point, the hotel is right in the middle of the 'Jewish' area so the restaurants and bars near here are amazing. The old town square is well worth a visit as it's the largest Old Town Square in Europe and it's a mere 10-15 minutes walk away.
The reception area is fine, does the job. Once there you will have a very spacious room with a lovely big bathroom with a bath, not just a shower, so nice for resting your aching bones after a long day of walking around various tourist attractions. Room also has air conditioning and hair dryer in bathroom.
Breakfast was great, typical continental style which is fine (after all, you're on the continent so what do us Brits expect, we need to start embracing other cultures rather than slating them for not being like us).
I cannot fault this hotel at all and would stay there again should I ever visit Krakow again.
