I would give this place 4.5 stars if it were possible.
Overall, it was great and has exceeded my expectations. The room was very quiet, well designed, had a duvet, big table to work on, free internet, ample storage and room for a suitcase, even a bench at the entry to change shoes! The bathroom was great, clean, with good water pressure. Pleasant ambient music played in the elevator lobby. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection of cheeses, cold cuts, even a stew on a few occasions (without any side dish though). The area nearby was clean and safe. A subway station was nearby (>10 min walk), and in the same area there were also many tram and bus connections. The staff speaks good English.
Now, the few negatives. If you need a hotel in the center of things and can't stand a though of using public transport to get around, this hotel will NOT satisfy you. (Most of life in Budapest in on the other side of the Danube, and you have to take the metro to get there.) It was not a big deal for me, though. While the breakfast was good per se (as in, good and filling food), there was little choice of specific breakfast food - there was a decent cake there only once. The mattress was EXTREMELY hard (the main reason for 4 instead of 5). Granted, there are people who like extremely hard mattresses; I don't.
Overall, I was very satisfied, and would recommend this place to anyone who can live with its few quirks. Especially considering its very democratic price, it's great.
